METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IDENTIFYING CAPSULE DEFECTS IN A FILTER OF THE TOBACCO PROCESSING INDUSTRY
A method for identifying capsule defects in a tobacco filter includes measuring values for density and/or moisture content of the filter using a microwave measurement device. The measured values are compared with a threshold value and a presence of a capsule defect in the filter is determined if the measured valued undershoots the threshold value. A value for a degree of fluctuation of the measured values is determined at a region in front of a measurement location and/or behind the measurement location in which at least one measured value is below the threshold value. The value for the degree of fluctuation is compared with a predetermined capsule threshold value. The capsule defect comprises a broken capsule when the value for the degree of fluctuation exceeds the capsule threshold value, and the capsule defect comprises a missing capsule when the value for the degree of fluctuation undershoots the capsule threshold value.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING FLAVOR CAPSULE OF TOBACCO
An apparatus for manufacturing a flavor capsule of tobacco according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise: a membrane tank for storing a membrane; a flavored liquid tank for storing a flavored liquid; and a nozzle to which the membrane is supplied from the membrane tank, to which the flavored liquid is supplied from the flavored liquid tank, and through which the flavored liquid is discharged while being enveloped in the membrane, so as to form the initial shape of a flavor capsule, wherein the membrane tank is equipped with a temperature adjustment unit for lowering the temperature of the membrane tank over time in order to preserve the viscosity of the membrane.
System and Method for Incorporating and Releasing a Substance into a Smokable Material
A system and method for incorporating and releasing a substance into a smokable material is provided. In one embodiment of the present invention, a smokable element (e.g., a cigarette) includes a first wrapper and a filler (e.g., tobacco, cannabis, etc.) encased by the first wrapper. A capsule is then embedded within the filler and a second wrapper is placed over the first wrapper adjacent the capsule. The capsule may comprise a liquid (e.g., cannabinoids, terpenes, etc.) encased within a shell. By squeezing the second wrapper, the shell can be crushed (or broken open), releasing the liquid into the filler, thereby creating a splash zone. Vapors and/or smoke from the splash zone can then be inhaled by a user, enhancing the user's smoking experience.
Bead feeder
A bead feeder serially delivering beads to a downstream location comprises a bead supply wheel connected to rotate about a vertical axis. The bead supply wheel includes a bead supply bowl and a plurality of radially and outwardly extending bead passageway connected to rotate with the bowl and dimensioned to receive a single line of beads. A plurality of openings in the bead supply bowl is spaced around a lower portion thereof with the openings in alignment with the radially and outwardly extending passageways each of which has an outer exit end. A metering plate is connected to rotate about the same vertical axis as the bead supply wheel, and metering plate has a plurality of equally spaced apart openings directly below the outer ends of the passageways for receiving the lowermost beads in the passageways. The metering plate rotates at a slightly slower or slightly faster speed than the bead supply wheel so that vertical alignment of an outer exit end of a particular passageway and an opening in the metering plate only occurs once for each revolution of the bead supply wheel. A drop off is provided for the removal of beads away from the metering plate.
VAPORIZER FILTER
A filter for an vaporizer has a housing having a sidewall and a top. A filter element is contained in the housing adjacent to the top. The filter element has an outer element concentrically arranged around an inner element. The outer element contains elongated fibrous filtering members containing quartz wool in order to reduce heavy metals contained in vapor passing through the filter. The inner element contains and delivers to the user flavorings or medications. A removable sanitary wrapper is disposed around the housing of the filter. The filter may also be configured as a replacement mouthpiece for a vaporizer.
CRUSHABLE FILTER FOR AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
A vaporizing device has an aperture for a removably attachable crushable filter, allowing a user the ability to add filters and flavors to vaporizing devices without changing the e-liquid. A removably attachable adapter may be used to couple the removably attachable crushable filter to a variety of existing vaporizing devices.
Transfer wheel and method for transferring objects
Transfer wheel (1) for transferring objects (40, 41) comprises at least a seat module (3). The seat module comprises a seat (2) located at the peripheral face of the transfer wheel and adapted for accommodating an object on the seat. The at least one seat module is a resilient seat module, wherein a position of the seat of the seat module is adaptable in radial direction of the transfer wheel. Also provided is a method for transferring objects.
AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH A CAPSULE PORTION
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including: a substrate portion containing an aerosol-forming substrate; and a capsule portion containing a carrier material, one or more breakable capsules being embedded in the carrier material, the one or more breakable capsules containing one or more active agents, at least parts of the one or more breakable capsules being arranged at an outer surface of the aerosol-generating article. An aerosol-generating system, including an aerosol-generating device including a cavity and a heating element, and the aerosol-generating article, is also provided.
FLAVOR ARTICLE FOR AN AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a flavor delivery article, a cartridge, and/or an aerosol delivery device that includes such flavor delivery article or a component thereof. The flavor delivery article includes a flavor substrate that can be formed of a porous material optionally having a graded porosity across at least a portion thereof. The flavor substrate further includes a flavor material retained thereby. The flavor substrate may be positioned within an outer shell of the flavor delivery article, and the flavor delivery article may be positioned anywhere within an aerosol delivery device (or a mouthpiece or a cartridge of an aerosol delivery device) wherein the flavor substrate retaining the flavor material may be contacted by a gaseous stream, such as a vapor stream and/or aerosol stream formed in the aerosol delivery device so that the flavor material may become entrained in the vapor stream and/or aerosol stream.
