Breathable item of clothing
An item of clothing comprising an internal layer, made of vapor-permeable material, which faces the body of the user, an external layer, which is opposite with respect to the internal layer, a hybrid portion, which belongs at least partially to the internal layer and is located in the region of the collar of the item of clothing, and an interspace between the internal layer and the external layer. The item of clothing has at least one open region in the hybrid portion, the hybrid portion being at least partially not in contact with the body of the user.
Face Mask Having Improved Comfort Through Cooling of Microclimate Through Use of a Phase Change Material
A multi-layered face mask coated with discontinuous patterns of phase change material are incorporated into the face mask construction to provide for cooling of the microclimate in the dead space of the face mask. Optimized cooling is achieved by strategic placement of layers coated with a phase change material within the mask construction and the amount and density of the phase change material in contact with the temperature sensitive areas of the face, as well as areas experiencing the maximum amount of flux from exhaled breath. The shape of the mask can also be adjusted to increase skin contact with the phase change material and decrease dead space volume, which reduces the volume of warm exhaled air and can provide sufficient cooling with less phase change material. The discontinuous patterns of phase change material also provide inter-layer spacing between the layers of the mask, which can improve splash resistance.
Solar adiabatic cooling apparatus
A solar adiabatic cooling vest. The cooling vest utilizes adiabatic evaporation to cool hot, dry air. Hot outside humid air is drawn by an exhaust fan through an air inlet over large particles of salt to lower the air humidity before passing through a wetted wick material. Heat in the air evaporates water in the wetted wick material, thus causing the air leaving the wick material to be saturated and at a lower temperature than the incoming air. The saturated air passes through a salt filter to lower the air's relative humidity. After exiting the salt filter, the cooled, drier air passes through an air filter to further lower its humidity and remove any salt particles from the air. The cooled air is then distributed through flexible outlet cooling tubes to a person's body, room, or enclosed space.
Cool comfort suit
Various exemplary embodiments relate to a business suit. The business suit includes front facing panels and upper sleeve panels formed of a first facing fabric; and an inner lining formed of a second moisture wicking fabric. The suit may further include exterior back panels or lower sleeve panels formed of the second moisture wicking fabric. The suit may further include a sleeve liner interior to a respective upper sleeve panel and the lower sleeve panel, the sleeve liner formed of a third fabric. In various embodiments, the business suit further includes pants. The pants include exterior facing panels formed of the first facing fabric; a waistband formed of the first facing fabric; and a pants liner formed of the second moisture wicking fabric and joined to the waistband. The pants may further include an exterior crotch insert panel formed of the second moisture wicking fabric.
Cooling Assembly
A cooling headgear is disclosed. Absorbent material within the headgear retains cold water. When worn by a user, the headgear holds the cold water to the head of the user, cooling the user.
Heat Transfer Vest with Hook and Loop Securement
The present invention comprises a heat transfer vest. The vest is configured to mount a plurality of heat transfer packs on its interior surface. In the preferred embodiments the appropriate portions of the interior surface are covered in a hook-compatible material. In these versions, the thermal transfer packs include one or more hook panels that are used to attach the packs to the interior surface.
WEARABLE COOLING SYSTEM FOR BODY COOLING AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE WEARABLE COOLING SYSTEM
One variation of a system includes a garment insert: configured to be worn across a dermal surface; including a textile panel defining a grid receptacle; and including a grid structure arranged within the grid receptacle and defining an array of apertures. The system further includes a cooling unit including a heatsink structure: defining a base section defining an inner surface configured to contact the dermal surface; and defining a set of heatsink columns extending from the base section, opposite the inner surface, and configured to seat extending through the array of apertures. The cooling unit: is configured to wick moisture from the dermal surface toward surfaces of the set of heatsink columns; and includes a polymer frame, bonded to the heatsink structure about the base section, configured to abut surfaces of the base section to surfaces of the grid receptacle to flexibly retain the cooling unit within the grid receptacle.
Article of Apparel
An article of apparel is formed that is effective to regulate the temperature of the wearer. In an embodiment, a textile substrate is obtained, and a thermal regulation composition is applied to a surface of the textile substrate at a first temperature and a first pressure to form a coated textile substrate. The coated textile substrate is dried to form a thermal regulation membrane disposed on the surface of the textile substrate, and the textile substrate with the thermal regulation membrane is compressed at a second pressure and a second temperature to position a portion of the thermal regulation membrane below the surface of the textile substrate. The textile substrate is incorporated into an article of apparel. The thermal regulation composition can include one or more system reactive components provided within a binder, where a system reactive components can include a cooling agent, a latent heat agent and/or a heat dissipation agent.
SPORTSWEAR WITH AT LEAST ONE CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE ZONE
A piece of sportswear with at least one controlled temperature zone which is made of a textile fabric structure that is shirred locally via tension zones so as to form webs. The webs are designed to contact the skin of the wearer on the interior of the fabric structure, and inner air channels are formed between the webs. At least one groove which forms an outer air channel is formed on the rear face of each of the webs on the shirred sheet structure. The controlled temperature zone is equipped with individualized controlled temperature elements which are contained in short webs separated from one another by lateral separation zones. Adjacent inner air channels are connected together by the separation zones, and the separation zones are laterally offset to one another between the controlled temperature elements such that the controlled temperature elements are arranged to at least partly overlap with respect to the length of the vertical body axis.
Cooling assembly
A cooling headgear is disclosed. Absorbent material within the headgear retains cold water. When worn by a user, the headgear holds the cold water to the head of the user, cooling the user.
