The upper head opening further comprises a first reinforcement guard about a perimeter of the upper head opening. The first reinforcement guard is integral with the garment body and provides increased cut resistance. A distal end of each sleeve of the pair of sleeves includes a second reinforcement guard about a circumference of each distal end of each of the pair of sleeves. The reinforcement guards are integral with the garment body and provide increased cut resistance. Each of the reinforcement guards are made of para-aramid (p-aramid) fibers or KEVLAR.

The cross-stitching may be single or doubled to aid in preventing separation of the sandwich of materials when cut.

The tensioning device is configured to adjust the fit of the cummerbund by gathering the lace, which draws the opposing ends closer together and tightens the cummerbund around a wearer.

Some embodiments also incorporate other fabrics, such as aramid variants, while non-cut-resistant sections may be made from blends like polyester and spandex. Quick release fastening system

A quick release fastening system associated with wearable articles is disclosed. The quick release fastening system includes a hook and loop fastener and a pull cord. A quick release of the fastening system can be accomplished with a frontal pull of the pull cord, which disengages the hook and loop fastener. No hardware is necessary to fasten or release the system. In some forms of the invention, the pull cord partially resides within a conduit that can be attached to or formed through the wearable article. The quick release fastening system is useful in any application wherein two articles need to be releasably fastened, including tactical vest applications of various types.
