A hockey shirt with neck and wrist guards having reinforced, slash-resistant neck and wrist portions to protect a hockey player from being cut from a blade of an ice hockey skate on their neck or wrist. The hockey shirt includes a garment body having a pair of sleeves, an upper head opening, and a lower torso opening. The upper head opening further comprises a first reinforcement guard about a perimeter of the upper head opening. The first reinforcement guard is integral with the garment body and provides increased cut resistance. A distal end of each sleeve of the pair of sleeves includes a second reinforcement guard about a circumference of each distal end of each of the pair of sleeves. The reinforcement guards are integral with the garment body and provide increased cut resistance. Each of the reinforcement guards are made of para-aramid (p-aramid) fibers or KEVLAR.

A knee pad is an apparatus that prevents the knee(s) of the user from making direct contact with a surface, is mounted to the knee area of the user through straps, and allows the user to utilize any padding. The knee pad includes a first strap, a second strap, a pad-receiving envelope, and an elastic tether. The first strap and the second strap allow the knee pad to be mounted to the knee area of the user. The first strap is a strip of material that can be wrapped around the thigh area of the user. A knee pad made from a sandwich of materials having an enlarged knee covering portion with a single holding strap extending from one side of the enlarged knee covering portion that wraps around a wearer's leg and is secured to a Velcro area mounted on a front surface of the knee covering portion of the knee pad. The single holding strap may be selectively sized, by cutting one of a number of cross-stitched sections formed at an outer end thereof, which sections may have indicia thereon, so as to be indicate where to cut so as to custom fit the knee pad over the knee of the wearer. The cross-stitching may be single or doubled to aid in preventing separation of the sandwich of materials when cut.

A load-bearing garment, such as a vest, is provided having stretchable web platform on an outside surface, such as between front and back panels of the vest. Disclosed is a cummerbund tensioning system configured to join opposing ends of a cummerbund to the rear plate bag of a plate carrier and to adjust the fit of the cummerbund. An example cummerbund tensioning system includes a mounting panel, a tensioning device, a plurality of adapters, and a lace. The lace operably connects the tensioning device to both the mounting panel and the plurality of adapters. The plurality of adapters, in conjunction with the lace, are configured to join a first opposing end and a second opposing end of the cummerbund to the mounting panel. The tensioning device is configured to adjust the fit of the cummerbund by gathering the lace, which draws the opposing ends closer together and tightens the cummerbund around a wearer.

A highly effective firearm recoil absorbing combination is obtained by providing a shoulder mountable assembly containing a viscoelastomeric thermoset polymerizate pad possessing excellent cushioning and rebounding characteristics along with sufficient surface tack to cohesively steady a firing firearm against the pad. The invention provides a protective garment tailored for ice hockey players to safeguard critical areas susceptible to blade injuries. This garment includes a collar, left and right sleeves with specific upper arm and forearm portions, and a torso portion. Strategically integrated portions of cut-resistant polyethylene material are present in the collar and forearm sections. Some embodiments also incorporate other fabrics, such as aramid variants, while non-cut-resistant sections may be made from blends like polyester and spandex. The collar may take various forms to provide the wearer with configurable protection.

A quick release fastening system associated with wearable articles is disclosed. The quick release fastening system includes a hook and loop fastener and a pull cord. A quick release of the fastening system can be accomplished with a frontal pull of the pull cord, which disengages the hook and loop fastener. No hardware is necessary to fasten or release the system. In some forms of the invention, the pull cord partially resides within a conduit that can be attached to or formed through the wearable article. The quick release fastening system is useful in any application wherein two articles need to be releasably fastened, including tactical vest applications of various types.
