An enhanced garment and method of using the same is characterized by a garment that provides for one or more grip pads to be secured onto or integrated into the garment at locations where the grip pads may be advantageous to the user. In some embodiments, the positioning of the grip pads on or within the garment may correspond to locations wherein friction, cushioning, or other advantage is desired. When in use, the present invention may provide that the user may grip objects more securely, manipulate objects equipment more efficiently, or otherwise perform tasks in a desired way.

A hockey shirt with neck and wrist guards having reinforced, slash-resistant neck and wrist portions to protect a hockey player from being cut from a blade of an ice hockey skate on their neck or wrist. The hockey shirt includes a garment body having a pair of sleeves, an upper head opening, and a lower torso opening. The upper head opening further comprises a first reinforcement guard about a perimeter of the upper head opening. The first reinforcement guard is integral with the garment body and provides increased cut resistance. A protective glove (100) is disclosed, comprising: a wrist section (200) for protecting a wrist of a wearer of the glove (100); a hand section (300) attached to an end of the wrist section (200), the hand section (300) for protecting the hand of a wearer of the glove (100). The hand section (300) comprises a knuckle section (304) for protecting the knuckles of a wearer of the glove (100). The glove (100) further comprises a knuckle compressor (900) is configured to compress the knuckle section (304), and comprises at least one strap (901) extending between a palm side of the hand section (300) and a back side of the hand section (300). The article of apparel can be used to protect hard, bony areas of the human body such as elbows, knees and ankles. The article will be of use to persons engaged in sports involving bats, sticks, mallets, pucks and hard balls, as well as to cyclists, and anyone whose occupation requires the knees or elbows to come into contact with hard surfaces.

A combat sport glove apparatus for protecting a hand and a wrist from injury during participation in a combat sport includes a body defining a cavity which has a size such that the cavity is configured for receiving the hand and the wrist of a user. The body is elongated between a front end and a rear end of the body and has an opening to the cavity positioned on the rear end of the body. A grip is mounted to the body and positioned in a front portion of the cavity, and a wrist support is coupled to the body and is positioned in a rear portion of the cavity. The wrist support is positioned such that the wrist support is configured to extend over the wrist and abut a dorsal side of the hand and a forearm of the user.

One such joint protector includes a first pad having a first axis; a second pad having a second axis; a connector coupled to the first and second pads, wherein the connector is configured to attach the first and second pads to a user's limb such that the first pad is positioned on one side of the user's joint and the second pad is positioned on an opposite side of the user's joint.
