Apparatus and method for applying an impregnating agent onto surfaces of items, in particular footwear
Apparatus for applying an impregnating agent onto surfaces of footwear at least comprising a right item and a left item, where said apparatus has a treatment chamber, where an openable and closable door is provided, said door allowing access to the interior of said treatment chamber for placing items to be impregnated inside said treatment chamber, and where adjacent the bottom of said treatment chamber means for placing the footwear at approximate determined positions are provided and where at least five nozzles are arranged in said treatment chamber, where said nozzles are able to create and issue a mist of impregnating agent, such that first and second nozzles are arranged to direct the mist to a zone of the footwear in the determined position corresponding to the front area of the right item respectively left item, and a third nozzle is positioned behind and between the determined position of the right item respectively left item, which third nozzle directs the impregnating mist towards a zone of the footwear in the determined position corresponding to the rear and inside left and right sides of the right item respectively left item, and where the fourth and fifth nozzles are arranged behind the footwear in the determined position in order to direct impregnating mist towards the rear and outside left and right sides of the right item respectively left item.
ARTICLES OF WEAR AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING THE SAME
Processes and systems for thermoforming articles of wear are disclosed. The process can include utilizing a negative pressure generation system to seal an article in a forming material thereby compressing the forming material onto the outer surface of the article. The process can also include exposing the sealed article to an increased temperature followed by exposure to a decrease temperature, while maintaining the compressive force of the forming material on the outer surface of the article. A positive pressure can also be applied to the sealed article while undergoing the heating and/or cooling steps, which can facilitate the removal of bubbles from the article during thermoforming as well as apply additional compressive force to the outer surface of the article.
WATER-WASHABLE MASKING COATING SOLUTION FOR POST-PROCESSING SHOE SOLE AND METHOD FOR USING COATING SOLUTION
The present invention is to develop a wet masking coating solution which is used to protect a shoe sole from contaminants and dust generated during a post-processing treatment of the shoe sole, such as laser etching or hot knife. The present invention proposes a water-washable masking coating solution for post-processing a shoe sole which can be perfectly removed just when the masking coating solution dried after post-processing treatment of the shoe sole is washed with water, thereby making consecutive work and mass production possible. Moreover, the present invention proposes a method for using the water-washable masking coating solution.
Assistive Devices For Applying And Removing Protective Shoe Covers, And Related Systems And Protective Covers
An assistive device for applying and removing a protective shoe cover from a shoe of a user includes a base, a shoe cover application mechanism supported by the base and configured to releasably receive and retain a protective shoe cover in an expanded state for applying the expanded protective shoe cover to a shoe, and a shoe cover removal mechanism supported by the base and configured to releasably grip a portion of a protective shoe cover fitted on a shoe for removing the protective shoe cover from the shoe. The assistive device may be stored in a device holder mountable to a vertical support surface. A protective shoe cover includes a non-rigid body, an elastic portion, and at least one device engagement element on the non-rigid body and configured to releasably engage an assistive device for at least one of applying the protective shoe cover to a shoe or removing the protective shoe cover from a shoe.
Fiber-bound engineered materials formed using zonal scrims
A fiber bound engineered material is provided that imparts an intended characteristic at an intended relative location. A fiber layer is entangled with additional fibers in a manner to create a non-uniform engineered material. The lack of uniformity of a fiber bound engineered material may be accomplished through manipulation of the fibers and/or through fiber binding a scrim. The fiber layer binds with additional fibers through entanglement such that a mechanical connection between the entangled fibers is provided. This entanglement allows the fibers to bind without supplemental adhesives, interlacing, or connections. Variations in the fibers and/or inclusion of scrim materials prior to entanglement allows for an intended characteristic (e.g., a functional characteristic) at an intended relative location (e.g., a position determined by an article to be formed therefrom).
Impregnating device and method
An apparatus and method are provided for applying a surface treatment such as impregnation agent or water repellency agent to shoes, boots, bags, gloves or the like, where the apparatus includes a closed treatment chamber provided with an openable access to the treatment chamber from outside the treatment chamber, and where the bottom of the treatment chamber a turntable is provided, having a flat surface in an x-y plane, and an axis Z, and where one or more nozzles are arranged for spraying a mist towards the turntable where the nozzles is/are connected to a control unit, and where a plurality of markers are provided on the periphery of the turntable, and that inside the treatment chamber a scanner used, such that the nozzles are activated to issue a mist of treatment according to a preprogrammed sequence and/or count of markers registered by the scanner.
