Method and apparatus for a safety beacon for a welding protection device
A protection device is disclosed, where the protection device comprises an eye protection shield, a light beacon, and a control circuitry to control the light beacon.
Apparatus for detecting wearing of body protection gear
A personal protective equipment wearing detection apparatus is provided which can accurately detect the approach or contact of a person's head by use of a plurality of contact detection sensors. A personal protective equipment wearing detection apparatus 100 includes a headband contact detection sensor 110 and a chin strap contact detection sensor 120, which are mounted on a headband 92 and a chin strap 94 of a helmet 90, respectively. The headband contact detection sensor 110 and the chin strap contact detection sensor 120 are connected to a controller 103 of a detection apparatus body 101. While one of the two contact detection sensors, the headband contact detection sensor 110 and the chin strap contact detection sensor 120, outputs a contact detection signal to the controller 103, the controller 103 connects the other contact detection sensor to GND.
Impact resistant headgear
A headgear apparatus is disclosed comprising a molded headgear apparatus which includes a cushioned core component to provide impact resistance during an activity. The headgear is configured to be low-profile to reduce the loss of vision caused by thick headgear which extends away from the face. The headgear may be molded to the facial contour of the user to provide complete protection from cuts, scrapes, swelling, and impact encountered in impact sports, such as martial arts, football, or other sports wherein impact to the head region is possible.
Helmet lighting system
A helmet lighting system includes a display attachable to a helmet which is selectively illuminated in response to receiving a wireless signal transmitted from a wireless transmitter operably coupled to a brake or direction signal light of the motorcycle. The display includes flexible base housing attachable to an outer surface of the helmet that at least partially houses an illumination module. A flexible applique overlies the illumination module and is at least partially transparent or translucent so as to pass light from LEDs of the illumination module therethrough. The applique is removably attachable to the base housing and/or the illumination module and may be replaced with other appliques having different logos or indicia.
SENSOR INTEGRATED JAMMING DEVICE
A jammer system includes a jammer unit, a valve coupled to the jammer unit, and a sensor coupled to the valve. The jammer unit includes a jammer media and a membrane including an inlet. The membrane is configured to surround the jammer media. The valve is configured to allow a fluid to pass through the inlet of the membrane. The sensor is configured to cause actuation of the valve to evacuate the fluid from an interior of the membrane. The evacuation of the fluid from the interior of the membrane results in stiffening of the jammer media within the membrane.
HELMET-MOUNTED DISPLAY SYSTEM COMPRISING A DEVICE FOR ALIGNING AND RETRACTING THE DISPLAY DEVICE
A helmet-mounted display systems includes a front mechanical arch comprising a display device and a means for holding and adjusting the display device in the vertical plane, the means consisting of a first vertical support surface comprising an oblong port and a screw/spring assembly, the screw passing through the oblong port and being fastened in a mechanical structure of the display device, the display device being capable of rotating in such a way as to make it retractable. The display system comprises a means for roll adjustment and repositioning of the display device, the adjustment means consisting of a second vertical support surface, normal to the first support surface, and a knurl screw attached to the mechanical structure of the display device, the end of the screw resting on the second support surface when the display device is in the use position.
Helmet lighting system
A helmet includes a lighting system integrated into the helmet. The helmet includes a first layer and a second layer. The helmet includes a plurality of light emitting devices between the first layer and the second layer. A controller is configured to control the light emitting devices. A power source is configured to power the light emitting devices and the controller. The light emitting devices are operably connected to the controller and the power source. In some configurations, a lighting system can be contained in a shell that that can be attached to an existing helmet. In some configurations, a lighting system is contained in a flexible material that can be fitted onto an existing helmet.
An impact reducing headgear is disclosed which utilizes dynamically responsive materials which undergo physical changes during exposure to impact forces, such that physical changes or phase changes absorb energy. The helmet may be constructed with a dual shell structure and a bladder, where the dynamically responsive materials may be contained. An embodiment for a comfortable fit which remains tight to the wearer's head is disclosed.
LED INFORMATION CUEING APPARATUS FOR SPACESUIT HELMET
A helmet assembly for a spacesuit or other protective suit is disclosed. In embodiments, the helmet assembly includes an external face shield attachable to the spacesuit and providing the spacesuit user with a forward field of view. The helmet assembly includes suit status displays hard-mounted to the external face shield at a periphery or edge of the forward field of view (e.g., upper, lower, left, right). Each suit status display includes a linear or one-dimensional array of individual light emitting diodes (LED) in communication with a suit controller of the spacesuit. Each LED array receives from the suit controller suit status data (e.g., consumables levels, suit performance, position data) communicated to the user by illuminating one or more of the individual LED units.
