The disclosed invention relates to a head lamp including a front main band and a rear main band present along the sagittal suture, wherein a front surface of the rear main band in contact with the back head of the user is concave. The head lamp has improved wearing comfort and reduced failure rate.

Non-newtonian materials for the prevention of mild traumatic brain injury

An improved design for an athletic helmet incorporating non-Newtonian fluid shock absorbing structures.

HELMET STABILIZATION APPARATUS
20210267298 · 2021-09-02 ·

A helmet stabilization system and apparatus for reducing the incidence of whiplash and neck injuries while wearing a helmet, such as in contact sports. The invention includes a helmet mount; a base mount configured for attachment to a shoulder harness; and a flex rod interconnectable between the helmet mount and the base mount. The flex rod, when interconnected between the helmet mount and the base mount provides a resistance to an extension or a compression sequence responsive to a contact imparted on the helmet. An oobleck may be provided in a coupling between the flex rod and the base mount to permit voluntary head movements of the user and to provide a resistance responsive to an impact force.

CYCLING HELMET

A cycling helmet includes an outer shell and a closed cell foam layer adjacent to the outer shell. The cycling helmet also includes an inner liner adjacent to the closed cell foam layer. The cycling helmet further includes an insert of energy absorbing material adjacent to the inner liner. The insert is configured to move in multiple directions in response to an impact to the cycling helmet.

HEAD PROTECTION SYSTEM

A head protection system includes a safety helmet and a fire protection cloth. The safety helmet includes a helmet shell (105) and a holding device (108) to guarantee a distance (A) between a helmet shell inner side (106) and the user head (102). An air path (110) is formed by a plurality of openings (120) of a fastening ring (125)and the distance between the inner side of the helmet shell and the head of the user. The fastening ring is arranged at least in an area of the user forehead of the user. The fire protection cloth has a fastening strap (230) with rigid fastening elements (235) configured to mesh with an opening of the fastening ring to detachably fasten the fire protection cloth to the safety helmet. The rigid fastening elements fill the plurality of openings in the fastened state to close the air path.

HEADBORNE ATTACHMENT PLATFORM INCLUDING SYSTEM, DEVICES AND METHODS
20210153594 · 2021-05-27 ·

A headborne attachment platform includes multiple rigid plates and straps of connecting material connecting the rigid plates in an assembly at independently selectable and pre-set distances apart from each other. The assembly of rigid plates is shaped and connected to sit adjacent to, and surround, the bone regions of a wearer's skull, and define an overall headgear shape and contour. The straps are more flexible than the rigid plates in directions perpendicular to the thickness of the straps, and the straps are inelastic in a direction of a length thereof. A tightening mechanism is configured to adjust a circumference of a headband region, and the rigid plates have mounting features configured to mount an outer helmet shell and/or a headborne device. The rigid plates are sufficiently rigid to support and maintain their three-dimensional shape when subjected to forces exerted upon them by the outer helmet shell or headborne device.

SECURING SYSTEM FOR SECURING A HELMET AND HELMET HAVING A SECURING SYSTEM OF THIS TYPE

A securing system for a helmet has a forehead band having two guiding installations and two neck band portions having in each case one counter guiding installation that corresponds to one of the two guiding installations of the forehead band. Each of the counter-guiding installations for repositioning the respective neck band portion in relation to the forehead band is disposed so as to be displaceable on the corresponding guiding installation.
