Advanced Comfort Chincup
The improved chincup relates systems and methods for a chincup comprising additional comfort relief during use. The chincup may comprise a first and second padding layer, which the first padding layer is positioned at, above or below the alveolar line of the mandible to further protect the chin from abrasions or other injuries during use. Furthermore, the first padding layer may comprise an elastic material to allow the first padding layer to decompress or deform from an uncompressed, original position prior to impact, to a compressed position after impact, and returning to its uncompressed state after the impact is removed.
IN-MOLDED HELMET CHINBAR
A helmet includes a shell having an interior surface, a padding disposed along the interior surface of the shell, and a chinbar. The padding defines a first engagement surface positioned at a first lateral side of the padding and a second engagement surface positioned at an opposing second lateral side of the padding. The chinbar includes a cage, a first flange, and a second flange. The cage includes a first end defining a third engagement surface and a second end defining a fourth engagement surface. The third engagement surface interfaces with the first engagement surface and the fourth engagement surface interfaces with the second engagement surface. The first flange extends from the first end of the cage. The second flange extends from the second end of the cage. The first flange and the second flange of the chinbar are embedded within the padding.
Multi-component helmet construction
A motorsport helmet includes a shell having a lower edge, a liner extending along an interior of the shell, and a support portion coupled to the shell and extending between the shell and the liner adjacent the lower edge. In some configurations, when the helmet is positioned on a DOT Standard No. 218 test head form, a portion of the lower edge is above the test line and a portion of the lower edge is below the test line, and the support portion extends from the portion of the lower edge that is above the test line to a location below the test line. The helmet may also include a muzzle adapted to cover the mouth and chin area of a wearer, and a magnetic coupling assembly releasably coupling the muzzle to the shell.
Protective apparatus with grooves
A sports accessory is provided to be worn by a user during a sport activity. The accessory includes a flexure system. The flexure system includes a support structure including a plurality of intersecting grooves disposed along a surface of the support structure, where a plurality of segments are defined along the surface of the support structure between the intersecting grooves such that the support structure is configured to flex along the grooves with segments moving in relation to other segments during use of the sports accessory.
Sports helmet with adjustable chin strap system
A protective sports helmet that includes a chin strap system that allows for rapid, one-handed adjustment of a chin strap assembly by the player while he/she is wearing the helmet is provided. The chin strap assembly includes a protective chin cup and a pair of straps extending from opposed sides of the chin cup and having a plurality of securing elements. The assembly also includes a pair of adjustable connectors affixed to the helmet and that include a central opening that receives an extent of the strap and a lever that engages a portion of the securing elements. The adjustable connector allows movement of the strap in a first direction, and prevents movement of the strap in a second direction when the lever is engaged with at least one of the securing elements. The adjustable connector allows movement of the strap in both the first and second directions when the lever is not engaged with the securing elements.
REMOVABLE CHIN CURTAIN ASSEMBLY SELECTIVELY ATTACHABLE TO A HELMET
A removable chin curtain assembly selectively attachable to a helmet is disclosed. The helmet has a helmet shell, a chin strap, and a pair of fasteners connecting the chin strap portion to the helmet shell. The fasteners are made at least in part of ferromagnetic material. The removable chin curtain assembly has a chin curtain and at least one permanent magnet connected to the chin curtain. The at least one permanent magnet is adapted for selectively magnetically connecting the chin curtain to at least one of the fasteners. Alternative embodiments of a removable chin curtain assembly are also disclosed.
PROTECTIVE HELMET
The invention relates to a protective helmet with an outer shell (1) for distributing impact forces, an interior layer (2) accommodated by the outer shell (1) for attenuating impact forces, and a slot (3) for accommodating an electrical device (4), wherein the outer shell (1) has a chin shell area (6) to cover a chin portion of a protective helmet wearer, wherein the outer shell (1) forms a viewing port (8) for the protective helmet wearer to look through. The protective helmet is characterized in that the slot (3) is arranged on the chin shell area (6) in such a way that the accommodated electrical device (4) is arranged between the chin shell area (6) and the interior layer (2), wherein the protective helmet has an interior cover (10) for essentially completely covering the accommodated electrical device (4) in the direction of the viewing port (8).
GOALIE HELMET
A helmet for a goalie is described herein. The helmet includes a head protective outer shell, a chin cup support bracket, and a shock membrane. The head protective outer shell defines an interior space. The head protective outer shell includes an exterior portion and in interior portion. The exterior portion includes an exterior lower section and an exterior upper section. The exterior upper section is curved. The interior portion is opposite the exterior portion. The interior portion includes an interior lower section and an interior upper section. The chin cup support bracket is secured to the interior lower section. The chin cup support bracket includes dual arm members configured to interface with a removable chin cup. The shock membrane is coupled with the interior upper section. The shock membrane includes a honeycomb design adapted to match a curvature of the exterior upper section and the interior upper section.
Ambidextrous Face Guard
An ambidextrous face guard includes an attachment portion having at least two attachment points. The attachment portion extends from a first end of the ambidextrous face guard toward a second end of the ambidextrous face guard along a slope. The ambidextrous face guard includes a protective portion extending from the attachment portion toward the second end of the ambidextrous face guard along the slope. A line of symmetry extends along at least the attachment portion from the first end of the ambidextrous face guard toward the second end of the ambidextrous face guard such that the line of symmetry defines two symmetric portions of the ambidextrous face guard that each extend along at least a portion of a length of the ambidextrous face guard. The ambidextrous face guard is configured to attach to a right side and a left side of a headgear via the attachment points.
PROTECTIVE APPARATUS WITH GROOVES
A sports accessory is provided to be worn by a user during a sport activity. The accessory includes a flexure system.
