A detachable veil device may include a support frame having a right temple support, a central support, and a left support. A veil, which may be configured for covering portions of the head of a wearer, may be coupled below and to the support frame. A first accessory fastener may be coupled to the right temple support, and a second accessory fastener may be coupled to the left temple support. Optionally, the device may comprise a nose cover which may be coupled to the central support. The device may be removably attached to a wearable accessory that may be worn by a wearer by removably attaching the accessory fasteners to the wearable accessory so that the veil may be positioned to cover portions of the head of a wearer by being supported by the wearable accessory that is being worn on the head of the wearer.

A helmet for a space suit includes a transparent section located at a front of the helmet. The transparent section includes a base glass having an inner surface located on an inside of the helmet and an outer surface located on an outside of the helmet, and a photochromatic transition glass. All or a portion, less than all, of the base glass is overlapped by the photochromatic transition glass. The helmet also includes a non-transparent section located at a back of the helmet.

Helmet

A helmet has a helmet shell and a visor pivotally connected to the helmet shell. The helmet further has an electrical device attached to one of the visor and the helmet shell. First and second helmet electrical contacts are attached at both sides of the helmet and are adapted for electrically connecting to an electrical power source. First and second visor electrical contacts are attached to each side of the visor and are electrically connected to the electrical device. The first and second visor electrical contacts are pivotally connected to the helmet shell about first and second pivot axes respectively. The first and second visor electrical contacts are in contact with the first and second helmet electrical contacts respectively, at at least one position of the pivoting visor.

A helmet and a method and system for controlling a digital visor of a helmet are disclosed herein. The helmet includes a visor screen having a plurality of liquid crystal display (LCD) pixels, with each LCD pixel configured to alter in transparency. The helmet also includes a light sensor configured to detect incident light. The helmet also includes a controller coupled to the visor screen and the light sensor. The controller is configured to alter the transparency of the plurality of LCD pixels based on the incident light. In embodiments, the controller can alter the transparency of the LCD pixels based on the direction and/or intensity of the incident light.

A visor locking mechanism is applied to a helmet equipped with a visor. The visor is provided on an inner side of an outer shell of the helmet which has a facial opening in a front side thereof. The visor is attached to a pair of left and right holders which are pivotably attached to the outer shell. The visor is configured to close or open at least part of the facial opening. A lock member that has an operation portion and a catch portion is disposed near at least one of the pair of holders. The operation portion allows the catch portion to fit together with or disengage from a catch counterpart portion provided at the pair of holders, whereby the visor becomes anchored or released.
