Described herein is a self-cleaning visor (1) comprising: a support structure (2) having a see-through portion (2a); an endless transparent film (3); a film drive means (4); and at least one film cleaning means (5); and two fasteners (6). The support structure (2) is releasably attachable to an associated helmet (10) by the two fasteners (6) such that it is tiltable between a raised see-through position (A) and a lowered see-over position (B). The support structure (2) encloses the endless transparent film (3) except for at the see-through portion (2a). The support structure (2) comprises the film drive means (4) and the at least one film cleaning means (5). The support structure (2) supports the endless transparent film (3) to selectively be driven by the film drive means (4) in a continuous loop over the see-through portion (2a) and past the at least one film cleaning means (5).

A tear-off capture system includes an eye protector with a base lens. The eye protector has a retention mechanism mounted on one side, and a support mechanism that supports the eye protector on the head of a wearer. A two-tabbed stack of laminated tear-off lenses mounts to the eye protector via an adhesive. The stack mounts so that the first tab of the stack aligns with the first side of the eye protector and the second tab engages with the retention mechanism. Via the second tab and the retention mechanism, released tear-off layers are directed toward the second side of the eye protector away from the base lens. A capturer helps hold the initially released tear-off layer to the eye protector. An exposed tacky surface on each released tear-off helps hold the subsequently removed tear-off layers.

A film laminate that can achieve sufficient sterilization effects and does not have the risk of damaging the film surface structure is provided. A film laminate 1 includes a plurality of film-shaped members 2 laminated in a separable manner, and columnar protruding members 5 protruding in the direction of lamination of the film-shaped members 2 and holding the film-shaped members 2 at a predetermined interval, wherein the protruding members 5 have engagement portions on the outer circumference of the protruding members 5 to which the film-shaped members 2 are engaged at the predetermined interval, the film-shaped members 2 have insertion holes 4 through which the protruding members 5 are inserted and removed as desired, and the film-shaped members 2 are held at the predetermined interval and laminated by the protruding members 5 being inserted through the insertion holes 4 and the film-shaped members 2 being engaged with the engagement portions.

An eye protector includes a lens configured to protect the wearer from projectiles, and an optically clear stack attached to the lens. The stack can have one or more removable layers. The eye protector also includes an optically clear dry mount adhesive layer attaching the stack to the lens. The dry mount adhesive may be self-wetting to attach the stack to the lens so that air between the stack and the lens can be removed after the stack is attached and/or adhered to the lens, for example, by applying pressure across the surface of the stack. The refractive indices of the lens, the dry mount adhesive, and each removable layer are matched to within about 0.2.
