A shoe for golf including an upper, a midsole, and an outsole arranged to form an enclosure adapted to receive a foot of a wearer, and a toe area disposed at a front of the shoe and adapted to house toes of the wearer, where the toe area has an oblique shape delimited by an outer radius of the outsole of greater than zero.

Methods of using a foot device are disclosed herein. The foot device includes a generally U-shaped portion having an arcuate portion and first and second legs extending from the arcuate portion. Each leg has an end and a relief area disposed adjacent the respective end. A method of using the foot device comprises engaging the arcuate portion with a heel of a foot to form a first point of contact; positioning the relief area of the first leg proximate a fifth metatarsal head of the foot such that the fifth metatarsal head drops to form a second point of contact; and positioning the relief area of the second leg proximate a first metatarsal head of the foot such that the first metatarsal head drops to form a third point of contact, wherein the first, second, and third points of contact form a triangle-shaped contact surface.

Methods of using a foot device are disclosed herein. The foot device includes a generally U-shaped portion having an arcuate portion and first and second legs extending from the arcuate portion. A method of using the foot device comprises engaging the arcuate portion with a heel of a foot to form a first point of contact; positioning the relief area of the first leg proximate a fifth metatarsal head of the foot such that the fifth metatarsal head drops to form a second point of contact; and positioning the relief area of the second leg proximate a first metatarsal head of the foot such that the first metatarsal head drops to form a third point of contact, wherein the first, second, and third points of contact form a triangle-shaped contact surface.

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a chassis including a footbed having an interior surface and an outer surface formed on an opposite side from the interior surface, the interior surface defining one or more sockets. The sole structure also includes one or more haptic elements each having a bottom surface received within a respective one of the one or more sockets and a top surface protruding from the interior surface of the chassis, each of the one or more haptic elements having a different hardness than the footbed.

The present disclosure relates to a shoe sole with a shock absorbing layer structure, the shoe sole including a midsole constituting an upper portion of the shoe sole and having an arch support formed on a portion that corresponds to an arch of a foot and an outsole constituting a lower portion of the shoe sole and having a cushioning portion formed to guide a center-of-pressure path while a user walks, wherein a shock absorbing layer configured to absorb shock applied to a midfoot portion of the foot is formed between the midsole and the outsole.

An article of footwear includes an upper having a tensioning element operable to move the upper between a tightened state and a loosened state. The tensioning element includes a first strand having (i) a first portion extending along a lateral side of an ankle opening of the upper to a first turn in the heel region, and (ii) a second portion extending from the first turn and along the lateral side of the ankle opening to a second end at an anterior end of the ankle opening. The tensioning element also includes a second strand having (i) a first portion extending along a medial side of the ankle opening to a second turn in the heel region, and (ii) a second portion extending from the second turn and along the medial side of the ankle opening to a fourth end at the anterior end of the ankle opening.

A foot orthotic designed to unweight the ball of the foot, or more precisely the foot region of one or more of the five metatarsal heads, to alleviate pain while walking or standing. Using a connector from the foot orthotic to a sulcus bar provides a reproduceable front to back position of the sulcus bar relative to the foot orthotic. In certain aspects of the invention the connector provides further unweighting of the metatarsal heads, and also ensures a specific custom position of the sulcus bar throughout the foot orthotic fabrication process. Various methods of manufacturing an orthotic are also disclosed.

A footwear kit, comprising: left and right items of footwear; left and right forefoot inserts receivable in the left and right footwear items, respectively, so as to tighten the fit thereof to a wearer; a fitting guide directing that, should the wearer have an orthotic for either or each foot, a said forefoot insert be arranged such that it underlies the orthotic in the footwear item for that foot if the fit of that footwear item with only the orthotic therein is loose.

Systems and methods are described for a shoe sole for relieving pressure from a wearer's metatarsal heads. In one aspect, a shoe sole comprises a shoe outer sole comprising a shaft region, a ball region, and a toe region. The shaft region underlies metatarsal shafts of the wearer and comprises a first lower surface, the ball region underlies metatarsal heads of the wearer and comprises a second lower surface, and the toe region underlies phalanges of the wearer and comprises a third lower surface. The second lower surface is raised relative to the first lower surface and the third lower surface.
