DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLOW FIELD PLATES
A method and a device for producing bipolar plates for fuel cells. A bipolar plate is formed by joining an anode plate to a cathode plate, wherein the anode plate and the cathode plate are formed by forming a substrate plate.
In order to provide a cost-effective and automated method, it is proposed that a plate already provided with a reactive coating or catalyst coating, which is transported, automatically driven, via a transport device from the forming device to the joining device, is used as substrate plate.
Metal Plate, Electrochemical Element, Electrochemical Module, Electrochemical Device, Energy System, Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, and Method for Manufacturing Metal Plate
A metal plate is formed by stacking a plurality of thin metal plates. The thin metal plates are respectively provided with a plurality of through holes passing therethrough in the thickness direction. The metal plate is provided with penetration spaces 1c formed by the through holes of the plurality of thin metal plates that are in communication with each other in a state in which thin metal plates are stacked. A metal plate aspect ratio that is a value obtained by dividing the thickness of each of the thin metal plates by the inner diameter of the through holes is 2 or less. A metal support aspect ratio that is a value obtained by dividing the overall thickness of the metal plate by the minimum inner diameter of the penetration spaces is 3 or more.
Air electrode, metal-air battery, and method for producing air electrode
A method for producing an air electrode includes a kneading step of kneading an oxygen reduction catalyst, a conductive auxiliary agent, and a water-repellent resin (binder) in a water solvent; and a rolling step of rolling with a roller the kneaded product produced in the kneading step. The rolling step includes rolling the kneaded product with the roller several times in many directions (at least two or more different rolling directions). In the formed air electrode, the water-repellent resin is fiberized in the air electrode, and the fibers thereof are oriented in many directions to form a netlike shape.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A BATTERY ELECTRODE HAVING A SOLVENT LEVEL TO FACILITATE PEELING
Systems and methods for a battery electrode having a solvent level to facilitate peeling are disclosed. In examples, a battery may include one or more electrodes and an electrolyte. The electrodes include an electrode slurry layer with a solvent. The electrode slurry is coated on a substrate, where the electrode slurry and substrate produce an active material with a residual amount of solvent in response to a heat-treatment, and where the active material comprises 10% to 25% residual solvent by weight following the heat-treatment. The amount of residual solvent facilitates peeling of the active material from the substrate, which, once pyrolyzed, may be used to create a multi-layer film with the current collector film and the active material.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MEMBRANE ELECTRODE AND GAS DIFFUSION LAYER ASSEMBLY
A method for manufacturing a membrane electrode and gas diffusion layer assembly includes: applying a catalyst ink including an ionomer to a second surface of an electrolyte membrane while conveying a first sheet in which a first surface of the electrolyte membrane is supported by a back sheet; drying the catalyst ink by blowing air vibrated with ultrasonic waves onto a surface of the catalyst ink to produce a second sheet in which a catalyst layer is provided on the second surface of the electrolyte membrane; forming a first roll by winding the second sheet; and producing a third sheet by stacking a gas diffusion layer on the catalyst layer and pressing them in a stacking direction as heating to join the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer while conveying the second sheet unwound from the first roll.
