The two layers curve in an upward direction from the ball region to the heel region. The two layers are fixedly attached at the foremost portions of the toe regions. At the arch region, the sides of either the top layer or the bottom layer may be extended to cradle either the top layer or the bottom layer to prevent lateral movement of one layer in relation to the other. The extended sides or brackets guide lengthwise sliding of one layer in relation to the other layer. The top layer forms a sleeve at the arch region where the bottom layer slides therein.

A shank for an article of footwear including a substantially planar base portion extending within a first plane in the longitudinal and lateral directions and a substantially planar ramp portion designed to absorb footwear loads in a vertical direction, the ramp portion extending, in an uncompressed state, within a second plane that is oblique to the first plane. The base portion and the ramp portion are arranged such that they do not overlap in the vertical direction. A sole assembly is also described and includes an outsole divided into a first portion located at a forefoot portion of the sole assembly and a second portion located at an arch portion of the sole assembly. An article of footwear has a sole structure with an extension portion that maintains contact with the ground during a forward stride, extending the time period for deceleration of loads applied to the sole structure. The article of footwear comprises an upper and a sole structure. The upper has a forefoot region with a foremost extent. The sole structure has a forefoot portion underlying the forefoot region, and an extension portion extending forward from the forefoot portion. The extension portion extends forward of the foremost extent of the upper from a forward edge of the forefoot portion to a distal end. A top side of the extension portion is spaced apart from the upper between the forward edge and the distal end. The extension portion establishes a propulsion surface beyond the foremost extent of the upper during a forward stride.

Embodiments of an improved high heel shoe are disclosed herein. According to various embodiments, the improved high heel shoe can include an upper, a sole at least partially connected to the upper, a heel at least partially connected to the sole, and a platform including a portion of the sole. The platform can include an improved platform assembly comprising a plurality of springs located between the sole and a cover that engages a foot of the wearer.

A sole cushioning module includes a contacting plate, a base plate, a connecting portion and a first spring leaf. The contacting plate abuts against a sole. The base plate and the contacting plate form a space. The connecting portion connects with the contacting plate and the base plate. The first spring leaf is located within the space. The first spring leaf connects with the base plate. The first spring leaf is curved and forms a first outer curved surface. A first region of the first outer curved surface abuts against the contacting plate. When the contacting plate moves towards the base plate, the contacting plate presses on the first outer curved surface. The first spring leaf deforms, and the first outer curved surface slides relative to the contacting plate. The first region shifts towards an end of the first spring leaf connecting with the base plate.

A shoe sole is basically provided with a first layer and a second layer. The second layer is coupled to the first layer. The second layer has a forefoot part and a tarsal part. The forefoot part extends along the first layer and the tarsal part is configured to be displaceable relative to the first layer.

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a midsole having a footbed extending from a first end to a second end disposed at an opposite end of the midsole than the first end, a first flange extending in a first direction from the first end of the footbed to a first distal end and a second flange extending in a second direction from the second end of the footbed to a second distal end, and an outsole disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and extending from the first distal end through a mid-foot region, the outsole including a greater rigidity than the midsole.

A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a first plate extending from a forefoot region of the sole structure to a heel region of the sole structure. The first plate has a first surface and a second surface formed on an opposite side of the first plate than the first surface. The sole structure further includes a second plate extending from the forefoot region to the heel region. The second plate has a third surface opposing the second surface of the first plate and a fourth surface disposed on an opposite side of the second plate than the third surface. The third surface is spaced apart from the second surface to define a cavity between the first plate and the second plate that extends from a medial side of the sole structure to a lateral side of the sole structure between the forefoot region and the heel region.

An article of footwear includes an outsole, an upper coupled to the outsole, a midsole arranged on the outsole, and a segmented support plate positioned between the outsole and the midsole. The segmented support plate includes a plurality of segments including (i) a first segment having a longitudinal dimension that is greater than a lateral dimension of the first segment, and (ii) a second segment having a longitudinal dimension that is less than a lateral dimension of the second segment.
