A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case connected to the first electrode to house the electrode assembly and including an opening to expose the electrode assembly; a cap plate coupled with the case to cover an outer region of the opening and including a through-hole to expose a center region of the opening; and a terminal plate connected to the second electrode to be insulated from and bonded to the cap plate, and including a flange part covering the through-hole and a protruded part penetrating the through-hole from the flange part.

A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case connected to the first electrode to house the electrode assembly and including an opening to expose the electrode assembly; a cap plate coupled with the case to cover an outer region of the opening and including a through-hole to expose a center region of the opening; and a terminal plate connected to the second electrode to be insulated from and bonded to the cap plate, and including a flange part covering the through-hole and a protruded part penetrating the through-hole from the flange part.

The present invention relates to a button-type secondary battery comprising: a can assembly configured to accommodate an electrode assembly and an electrolyte, wherein the can assembly comprises: a lower can configured to accommodate the electrode assembly and the electrolyte and serve as a first electrode terminal; an upper can coupled to surround the lower can and configured to serve as a second electrode terminal; and a gasket provided between the lower can and the upper can to seal a gap between the lower can and the upper can, wherein a first leakage detection member configured to detect whether the electrolyte leaks is provided on an outer surface of the lower can that is in close contact with the gasket, and the first leakage detection member is provided with a recessed lower coupling groove formed in the outer surface of the lower can.

A button-type secondary battery includes an electrode assembly; a lower can having an accommodation space in which the electrode assembly is accommodated; an upper can coupled to the lower can to cover the accommodation space; a gasket sealing a gap between the lower can and the upper can and to electrically insulate the lower can from the upper can while being inserted into a coupled portion of the lower can and the upper can; and a first electrode tab including a first coupling part coupled to a first electrode of the electrode assembly and a second coupling part coupled between the gasket, which is disposed at the coupled portion of the lower can and the upper can, and the upper can. The casing comprises an annular receiving member, and a limiting member protrudingly arranged on the receiving member, the receiving member is sleeved on an outer side of the accommodating cavity, and arranged at a port of the accommodating cavity, and the limiting member is in the shape of a ring and is arranged on an outer side of the accommodating cavity. The casing is provided with an accommodating cavity. The casing comprises an annular receiving member, and a limiting member protrudingly arranged on the receiving member, the receiving member is sleeved on an outer side of the accommodating cavity, and arranged at a port of the accommodating cavity, and the limiting member is in the shape of a ring and is arranged on an outer side of the accommodating cavity. The limiting member is provided with a bendable portion arranged above the battery cover.

A rechargeable battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly in which a separator is disposed between a first electrode and a second electrode; a case having an opening on one side and accommodating the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly coupled to the opening so as to seal the case. The cap assembly includes: a cap plate coupled to the opening and provided with a terminal hole; a terminal plate disposed inside the terminal hole; and an insulating material, and also includes a sealing portion which covers a circumferential portion on the terminal hole side of the cap plate and a circumferential portion of the terminal plate so as to form a seal between the cap plate and the terminal plate.

A rechargeable battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly in which a separator is disposed between a first electrode and a second electrode; a case having an opening on one side and accommodating the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly coupled to the opening so as to seal the case. The cap assembly includes: a cap plate coupled to the opening and provided with a terminal hole; a terminal plate disposed inside the terminal hole; and an insulating material, and also includes a sealing portion which covers a circumferential portion on the terminal hole side of the cap plate and a circumferential portion of the terminal plate so as to form a seal between the cap plate and the terminal plate.

A method of manufacturing a secondary battery that includes combining a first metal casing and a second metal casing with each other without being crimped so as to house an electrode assembly between the first metal casing and the second metal casing. Also disclosed is a secondary battery that includes: an electrode assembly; a first metal casing; and a second metal casing, wherein the first metal casing and the second metal casing are combined with each other without being crimped so as to house the electrode assembly between the first metal casing and the second metal casing.
