The secondary battery of the present invention includes a can member accommodating an electrode assembly and a top cap assembly covering an opening of the can member. A safety vent is provided in the top cap assembly to discharge a gas when an inner pressure of the can member increases, wherein the safety vent includes a main body and a bending unit, in which an outer edge of the main body is bent, and wherein a buffering space is defined between the bending unit and the main body.

The present disclosure is to provide a cylindrical secondary battery that facilitates connecting a busbar by having both positive and negative electrodes on one side, and that has highly reliable electrical contact between an electrode assembly and a case. To that end, the present disclosure provides a secondary battery comprising: an electrode assembly; a case for housing the electrode assembly; a current collector plate welded to the electrode assembly and case; and a cap plate, located above the current collector plate, for sealing the case.

A technical problem to be solved according to an embodiment of the present invention is to provide a cylindrical secondary battery which can prevent components thereof from being deformed during manufacturing processes or in use. To this end, an embodiment of the present invention provides a cylindrical secondary battery comprising: a cylindrical can; an electrode assembly received in the cylindrical can; and a cap assembly covering the cylindrical can to seal the electrode assembly, wherein the cap assembly comprises a cap-up, a cap-down below the cap-up, and a safety vent between the cap-up and the cap-down, and the contact ratio between the safety vent and the cap-down ranges from 60% to 100%.

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery representing an embodiment of a sealed battery of the present invention includes a bottomed cylindrical exterior case, a sealing member, a cylindrical wound electrode assembly and an electrolyte. An open end of the exterior case is crimped together with the sealing member via an insulating gasket so as to form a seal. The sealing member includes a lid having a thin and fragile portion, an insulating ring, and a terminal plate having a thin and fragile portion. The terminal plate is electrically connected to a positive electrode current collector leading out from the cylindrical wound electrode assembly. The lid and the terminal plate are electrically connected within an opening of the insulating ring. The lid is disposed so as to expose an outer side of at least a portion of the lid opposed to the opening of the insulating ring directly to an outside environment.

The lid is disposed so as to expose an outer side of at least a portion of the lid opposed to the opening of the insulating ring directly to an outside environment.
