WELDING METHOD OF BATTERY COVER PLATE
A welding method of a battery cover plate includes: performing a first welding and performing a second welding. The first welding starts from an edge of one side of the cover plate, continuously welds a portion of a connecting seam between a shell and the cover plate, and ends at an edge of an opposite side. The second welding starts from an ending position of the first welding, continuously welds a remaining portion of the connecting seam, and ends at an initial position of the first welding, or, the second welding starts from the initial position of the first welding, continuously welds the remaining portion of the connecting seam, and ends at the ending position of the first welding.

FOLDED HEADSPACE INSULATOR
A battery comprising a tubular battery housing having a first end and a second end. The first end and the second end can have a substantially same inner diameter and a substantially same outer diameter. The battery further comprises a battery cell within the tubular battery housing. The battery further comprises a top battery cover coupled to the first end and a bottom battery cover coupled to the second end to form a substantially sealed enclosure around the battery cell. Method for manufacturing the battery are also described.
BUTTON-TYPE SECONDARY BATTERY
A button-type secondary battery having a cup which has an opened upper side and in which an electrode assembly and an electrolyte are mounted; a top plate which is coupled to an upper end of the cup to close the opened upper side of the cup and in which a through-hole is formed; a positive electrode terminal including a protrusion having a diameter capable of being inserted into the through-hole and a hook having a diameter greater than that of the through-hole, the protrusion being inserted into the through-hole so that the hook is disposed outside or inside the cup; and a gasket inserted to insulate a portion at which the protrusion and the hook are in contact with the top plate when the protrusion of the positive electrode terminal is inserted into the through-hole. The gasket bonds the positive electrode terminal to the top plate.

SECONDARY BATTERY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A secondary battery that includes an electrode assembly and an exterior body housing the electrode assembly. The exterior body includes a cup-shaped exterior member and a lid-shaped exterior member connected to each other by a welded part. An end part of at least one of the cup-shaped exterior member and the lid-shaped exterior member includes a stepped part on an inner surface thereof. The stepped part includes a first extending surface and a second extending surface extending in substantially a same direction and having different heights from each other, and a stepped surface connecting the two extending surfaces. The welded part is in a part of the stepped part, and the stepped surface of the stepped part is separated from an opposed part of the exterior body.
