Energy storage devices, battery cells, and batteries of the present technology may include a housing characterized by a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The batteries may include a set of electrodes located within the housing. The set of electrodes may be positioned within the interior region of the housing. The set of electrodes may include a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode may include a tab coupled with a surface of the housing at a distal end and coupled with the first electrode at a proximal end. The tab may be coupled with a first surface of the first electrode. A first insulating material may be applied along a second surface of the first electrode across a section corresponding to a location where the tab is coupled with the first electrode. The batteries may also include a cap at least partially contained within the interior region of the housing. The cap may be characterized by a first surface facing the set of electrodes.

A battery module having a plurality of prismatic battery cells, in particular lithium-ion battery cells, which are arranged next to one another in a longitudinal direction of the battery module, wherein the plurality of battery cells are received in an interior of a housing of the battery module and additionally a bottom surface of the housing of the battery module and a bottom surface of the battery cells are respectively cohesively connected to one another, in particular in an adhesively bonded manner by means of an adhesive, wherein a compressing element is arranged between the housing and the plurality of battery cells in the longitudinal direction of the battery module, so that a defined spacing is formed for electrical insulation from the housing.
BATTERY MODULE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A BATTERY MODULE
A battery module having a plurality of prismatic battery cells, in particular lithium-ion battery cells, which are arranged next to one another in a longitudinal direction of the battery module, wherein the plurality of battery cells are received in an interior of a housing of the battery module and additionally a bottom surface of the housing of the battery module and a bottom surface of the battery cells are respectively cohesively connected to one another, in particular in an adhesively bonded manner by means of an adhesive, wherein a compressing element is arranged between the housing and the plurality of battery cells in the longitudinal direction of the battery module, so that a defined spacing is formed for electrical insulation from the housing.

A rechargeable battery includes: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case that is connected to the first electrode to accommodate the electrode assembly and includes an opening exposing the electrode assembly; a cap plate configured to be coupled with the case to cover an outer area of the opening, and configured to include a through-hole exposing a central area of the opening; and a terminal plate that is insulation-bonded to the cap plate to cover the through-hole and is connected to the second electrode, wherein the terminal plate includes a first plate and a second plate.

SEALING MEMBER AND CYLINDRICAL LITHIUM-ION BATTERY
A sealing member is one used for a cylindrical lithium-ion battery. The sealing member is interposed between a bottom-closed cylindrical case and a cap, is made of perfluoropolymer, and has dimensions that meet the following relational expressions: when an axial distance from a cap upper surface to a leading end portion in a case is defined as HC, an axial distance from the cap upper surface to a leading end portion in the sealing member is defined as HG, a thickness of the sealing member is defined as TG, a value of TG divided by HG is defined as X (=TG/HG), and a value of HG divided by HC is defined as Y (=HG/HC),

A sealing member is one used for a cylindrical lithium-ion battery. SECONDARY BATTERY
A secondary battery includes an outer package member, a battery device, and an insulating member. The outer package member has a flat and columnar shape and includes a first bottom part and a second bottom part opposed to each other. The battery device is contained inside the outer package member, and has a first through hole extending from the first bottom part toward the second bottom part. The insulating member is adhered in part to the battery device between the second bottom part and the battery device, and has a second through hole at a position overlapping with the first through hole.

A secondary battery includes an outer package member, a battery device, and an insulating member. The outer package member has a flat and columnar shape and includes a first bottom part and a second bottom part opposed to each other. The battery device is contained inside the outer package member, and has a first through hole extending from the first bottom part toward the second bottom part.
