Sealed battery

A sealed battery, which is an exemplary embodiment, comprises a battery case including a bottomed cylindrical outer can and a sealing body that closes an opening of the outer can, a gasket disposed between the outer can and the sealing body, and an electrode body including an electrode and housed in the battery case. The sealing body includes a metal plate, and the metal plate has a thin portion formed in an annular shape, a valve portion having a convex shape inside the battery case, and an annular portion to which the electrode lead is connected. The gasket is provided with an elastically deformable portion that abuts against the inner surface of the valve portion and urges the valve portion to the outside of the battery case.

Rectangular secondary battery

Provided is a rectangular secondary battery with improved rigidity against vibrations and impacts. A rectangular secondary battery of the present invention includes: a flat-shaped electrode group; a current-collecting plate electrically connected to the electrode group; a battery case accommodating the current-collecting plate and the electrode group; a battery cover that closes an opening of the battery case; an electrode terminal penetrating through the battery cover, the electrode terminal being connected to the current-collecting plate via a connecting member; and a gasket that is inserted between the electrode terminal and the battery cover for insulating and sealing. An insulator is disposed between the current-collecting plate and the battery cover, the battery cover includes a battery cover side fixing part that fixes the insulator, and the insulator includes a current-collecting plate side fixing part that fixes the current-collecting plate.

Rectangular secondary battery

Provided is a rectangular secondary battery with improved rigidity against vibrations and impacts. The sealing body includes a valve body. The valve body includes an annular or C-shaped first frangible portion, and an annular second frangible portion having an inside-portion area smaller than an inside-portion area of the first frangible portion. The valve body is configured such that a vent pressure when the second frangible portion is fractured is lower than a vent pressure when the first frangible portion is fractured.

A surface of the second electrode plate facing back from the center of the electrode assembly contains a second blank foil region uncoated with a second active material. The elastic portion is electrically connected to the second blank foil region.

The second terminal pad is contactable with the second terminal of the battery cell housing. A reversal device of the assembly is deflectable toward the first and second terminal pads. A conductive element of the assembly is positioned between the reversal device and the first and second terminal pads.

Overcharge protection device with uneven terminal pads

An overcharge protection device cover assembly for use with a battery cell housing. The battery cell housing has a first terminal and a second terminal, the overcharge protection device cover assembly including a first terminal pad having a first length. The first terminal pad is contactable with the first terminal of the battery cell housing. The assembly also includes a second terminal pad having a second length that is greater than the first length. The second terminal pad is contactable with the second terminal of the battery cell housing. A reversal device of the assembly is deflectable toward the first and second terminal pads. A conductive element of the assembly is positioned between the reversal device and the first and second terminal pads.
