TELESCOPIC ANTENNA MAST
An antenna system includes a base section; a plurality of movable antenna sections adapted to fit inside of the base section, each movable antenna section including an outside section and an inside section, wherein the outside section has a plurality of section locks penetrating through the inside and outside sections; and a lock pin to prevent the inside section from collapsing into the outside section in an extended mode.
WIRELESS ELECTRIC FIELD POWER TRANSFER SYSTEM, METHOD, TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER THEREFOR
A wireless electric field power transmission system comprises: a transmitter comprising a transmitter antenna, the transmitter antenna comprising at least two conductors defining a volume therebetween; and at least one receiver, wherein the transmitter antenna transfers power wirelessly via electric field coupling when the at least one receiver is within the volume.
Wideband Ground Penetrating Radar System and Method
An improved Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system is provided. The system advantageously employs full waveform digitization of a returning signal to significantly reduce the number of launch signals and allowing the amount of radiation emitted to stay within the limit set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), while producing a robust information detection signal. In addition, intermittent large latent-duty-cycle sampling employs a less expensive digitizer typically used in prior art GPRs. The system is scalable at low-cost to accommodate multi-antenna multi-static testing for subsurface tomographic imaging.
Scissors mast for supporting a cellular antenna on a mobile asset
A self-contained, mobile cellular system mounted on a vehicle bed. The system includes: an extendable scissors mast having a plurality of sections, each section comprising a first cross bar pivotably connected to a second cross bar, the mast further including an actuator configured to selectively extend and retract the mast; and an antenna fixed atop the mast.
Activating high-speed train configurations in wireless communications
Aspects of the present disclosure describe activating a high speed train (HST) configuration for communicating with a cell in a HST based communications environment. A first signal including an HST activate indication to activate a HST configuration can be received from a cell. The HST configuration can be activated based at least in part on the HST activate indication. One or more subsequent signals can be communicated with the cell using the HST configuration based at least in part on the HST activate indication.
System and Method For Characterizing Radio And Antenna Performance Using RSS Measurements
A communications system for a vehicle includes an antenna mounted on a vehicle and configured to communicate with a plurality of remote units. A diagnostic controller is configured to detect obstacles or damage to the antenna. The diagnostic controller is configured to receive remote messages, measure a receive signal strength of the remote messages, and determine a ratio of low receive signal strength sample messages to total sample messages. The diagnostics controller is further configured to trigger a diagnostic output to the vehicle when the ratio is greater than a predetermined threshold.
Mobile satellite system
The mobile satellite system is a vehicle that is adapted for use in satellite communications. The mobile satellite system is a trailer that is towed by a motorized vehicle. The mobile satellite system comprises a dish, a dish mount, a chassis, a suspension, a plurality of tracks, and a control system. The suspension attaches the plurality of tracks to the chassis. The dish mount attaches the dish to the chassis. The control system is mounted in the chassis. The dish is an antenna that is used to establish a communication link with a targeted satellite. The control system is an electronic device. The control system: 1) manages the targeting and positioning of the dish; and, 2) receives messages and other communications from a targeted satellite; and, optionally, 3) transmits messages and other communications to the targeted satellite.
METHODS FOR FORMING 3D IMAGE DATA AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUSES
A method for forming 3D image data representative of the subsurface of infrastructure located in the vicinity of a moving vehicle. The method includes: rotating a directional antenna, mounted to the moving vehicle, about an antenna rotation axis; performing, using the directional antenna whilst it is rotated about the antenna rotation axis, a plurality of collection cycles in which the directional antenna emits RF energy and receives reflected RF energy; collecting, during each of the plurality of collection cycles performed by the directional antenna.
Vehicle outdoor electronics cabinet
An antenna farm enclosure for a locomotive cab includes a planar lid hinged to a base and bearing an array of compact antennae. A separate frame holds the antenna farm above the roof to permit wind and moisture to pass beneath, and allows for adjustments for irregularities in the cab roof. A chimney surrounding a port through the cab roof extends upward into the antenna farm enclosure, forming a dam that prevents accumulated moisture from entering the cab or the enclosure. Cables from the antennae extend through the chimney into the cab. A wide flange surrounds the lid and bears against two concentric gaskets to seal the enclosure. Specialized hold-down devices arrayed around the flange compress both gaskets, and comprise threaded shafts hingedly coupled to the base. The slightly arched flange asserts spring-like tension against the hold-down devices, which compress the arched flange to strengthen the seal.
Driver circuit for an inductor and active transmitter device having a driver circuit
The invention relates to a driver circuit and an active transmitter device, a series circuit consisting of a first capacitor (4) and a second capacitor (12) being charged to a reference voltage by way of a charging current and the charged capacitors being discharged via the inductor (1) by an oscillating discharge, the discharge being terminated when the current through the inductor has completed an entire oscillation period or a multiple thereof.
