The first radar antenna assembly is spaced apart from the second radar antenna assembly. The at least one radar transmitter is coupled to the at least one radar receiver by a synchronization line for a bistatic radar operation of the radar system. Further, at least one of the first radar antenna assembly or the second radar antenna assembly includes a feed horn and a reflector for the feed horn.

The radar system also includes a radar antenna assembly for transmitting radar signals into a traffic space and for receiving radar signals reflected by objects present in the traffic space. The radar system further includes a component of the vehicle. The ground plane connector is electrically connected to the component of the vehicle.

One embodiment of the disclosure relates to a vehicle radar device and a method for controlling the same. A radar device includes a transmission antenna and a reception antenna that is a structure different from the transmission antenna. The transmission antenna includes a single or a plurality of transmission element antennae and a transmission dielectric substrate where the single or the plurality of transmission element antennae is positioned, and a length in a first direction of the transmission antenna is longer than a length in a second direction of the transmission antenna, and the second direction is orthogonal to the first direction. The reception antenna includes a single or a plurality of reception element antennae and a reception dielectric substrate where the single or the plurality of reception element antennae is positioned, a length in a third direction of the reception antenna is longer than a length in a fourth direction of the reception antenna, and the fourth direction is orthogonal to the third direction.

Method and system for generating trigger signals from radar signal

A method and system are provided for generating a trigger signal from a radar signal received over the air from a radar under test. The method includes detecting power of the radar signal received from the radar under test at a radio frequency (RF) power detector, the radar signal including multiple bursts of RF energy in a burst pattern; identifying repeating radar frames from the burst pattern using the detected power of the radar signal, each radar frame having at least one burst; and creating trigger signals corresponding to the radar frames, respectively, by synchronizing to the at least one burst in each radar frame.

A radar apparatus for estimating position of a plurality of obstacles. The radar apparatus includes a receive antenna unit. The receive antenna unit includes a linear array of antennas and an additional antenna at a predefined offset from at least one antenna in the linear array of antennas. The radar apparatus also includes a signal processing unit. The signal processing unit estimates an azimuth frequency associated with each obstacle of the plurality of obstacles from a signal received from the plurality of obstacles at the linear array of antennas. In addition, the signal processing unit estimates an azimuth angle and an elevation angle associated with each obstacle from the estimated azimuth frequency associated with each obstacle.

DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC TEST OF INTEGRATED ANTENNAS

A test set-up for testing a system-in package with an integrated antenna is described herein. According to one exemplary embodiment, the test set-up includes a carrier with an RF probe arranged thereon and a test socket with resilient electric contacts. The test socket is mounted on the carrier and provides an electric contact to interconnects of the package when it is placed on the test socket. The test socket has an opening which is arranged superjacent to the RF probe.
