Spatial power-combining devices with thin film resistors
Spatial power-combining devices and, more particularly, spatial power-combining devices with improved isolation are disclosed. Spatial power-combining devices are disclosed that include a thin film resistor that is configured to provide improved signal isolation. The thin film resistor may be arranged within one or more amplifier assemblies of the spatial power-combining device to reduce signal leakage between the amplifier assemblies. The thin film resistor may be formed on a carrier substrate or the thin film resistor may supported by a surface of an amplifier assembly without a carrier substrate. Spatial power-combining devices are disclosed that include a radial arrangement of amplifier assemblies, and each amplifier assembly includes an antenna structure and a thin film resistor.

Phased array transceiver with built-in transmitter linearization feedback
Methods and devices for streamlining phase and amplitude calibration and linearization in RF transceiver circuits including a plurality of switchable transmit and receive processing paths is presented. According to one aspect, switchable feedback paths are provided that can selectively feedback a portion of a transmitted RF signal or a test RF signal for use in the calibration. According to another aspect, the switchable feedback paths include combination of switches and couplers to selectively combine feedback from one or more of the switchable feedback paths. According to another aspect, the switchable feedback paths reuse portions of the receive paths of the plurality of switchable transmit and receive processing paths. The switchable feedback paths can be used to provide a combined feedback RF signal based on one or more transmitted RF signals that can be used as a digital pre-distortion feedback for linearization of the one or more transmitted RF signals.

Methods and systems for distortion redirection in phased arrays
Systems and methods are provided for distortion redirection in phased arrays. In an electronic device configured for transmission and reception of signals and having a two-dimensional phased array, effects of distortion, corresponding to at least one processing function applied during communication of signals, on the communication of signals may be assessed, and based on the effects of distortion, one or more adjustments for mitigating the effects of distortion may be configured and applied during processing of signals. Assessing the effects of distortion may include determining one or more characteristics associated with the communication of the signals, where the one or more characteristics relate and/or are subject to the effects of the distortion, and assessing the effects of distortion based on the one or more characteristics.
