CABLE CONNECTION AND METHOD
A subsea connector cable connection system has an interface and a retainer. One of the interface and the retainer has an external screw thread on a cylindrical section and the other has a corresponding internal screw thread on a cylindrical section. The interface further includes a conical body extending from the cylindrical section and the retainer further includes a corresponding conical internal surface extending from the cylindrical section and adapted to be spaced from the surface of the conical body when the interface and retainer are screwed together. Interaction of the conical body and conical internal surface produces a first end stop adapted to stop axial movement of the retainer. A second end stop remote from the first end stop is provided, adapted to stop axial movement of the cable.
EARTHING BOND SEAL
This invention relates to an earthing bond seal for sealing between a flanged bush of an earthing bond and a substrate with which the flanged bush is to form an electrical connection, the seal comprising: an upper surface for engagement with the flange of the bush; a lower surface for engagement with the substrate; and an opening extending between the upper and lower surfaces, wherein the upper surface is provided with a first recess configured to receive the flange of the bush.
Variable-clocking terminal assembly
A variable-clocking terminal assembly includes a crimp barrel, a terminal lug, and a locking collar. The crimp barrel includes a crimp portion having a crimp portion cavity sized and configured to receive a cable end of an electrical cable. The crimp barrel includes a conical portion extending axially from the crimp portion. The terminal lug has a cylindrical portion and a terminal tongue extending outwardly from the cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion has a conical cavity configured complementary to the conical portion. The locking collar has collar threads configured to engage threads formed on one of the crimp barrel and the terminal lug for drawing the conical portion into direct physical engagement with the conical cavity in a manner locking an orientation of the terminal lug relative to the crimp barrel and establishing electrical continuity between the conical portion and the conical cavity.
Connector for electrically connecting sets of conducting wires
A coupler optionally couples two sets of conductive wires. In some embodiments, the coupler includes a body having a first end with a first set of at least two holes and a second end with a second set of two holes. Optionally each hole includes a clamp. Optionally, each clamp of said first set of holes is conductively connected to at least one clamp of said second set of holes. In some embodiments a first rotating element simultaneous attaches to said coupler a first set of a plurality of wires inserted into said first set of holes and/or a second rotating element simultaneous attaches to said coupler a second set of a plurality of wires inserted into said second set of holes.
Conductor contact tip
A conductor contact is provided having a sleeve (2) with an opening adapted to receive a free end (1) of a conductor. A contact tip (3) with an opening (35) is adapted to receive the sleeve (2), where the sleeve (2) has a tapered outer surface (21) on a compressible section surrounding the opening. The contact tip (3) has a tapered surface inside the opening adapted to compress the compressible section of the sleeve when the 10 contact tip surrounds the sleeve (2), and an outer smooth surface (34).
Device for Fixing an Electrical Connection Terminal to a Support
A device for fixing an electrical connection terminal to a support provided with an opening, the device comprising: a generally tubular bush for location within the opening of the support and provided with opposed front and rear ends between which extends a bore; a dowel configured for forced insertion into the bore so as to cause outward deformation of the bush, the dowel being provided with connection means engageable with a connector for fastening the terminal to the support and to facilitate the forced insertion; wherein there is further provided a weak region interconnecting the bush and the dowel.
Holding device for a cable
A holding device and a method for mounting such a holding device on a cable having a braid situated externally at least in certain regions. The holding device includes a base element (4) with a base (9) for fastening the base element (4) to a housing, and a bracing element (5) for operative connection to the base element (4), and also a crimp element (6) with an outer crimp sleeve (10), and, arranged therein, an inner supporting sleeve (11). In a state in which the cable (2) is mounted in the holding device (1), the braid (3) is arranged between the crimp sleeve (10) and the supporting sleeve (11), and the shield braid (4) is crimped between the crimp sleeve (10) and the supporting sleeve (11).
CONDUCTOR CAPTURE MECHANISM FOR HIGH CABLE DENSITY APPLICATIONS
A conductor capture mechanism for a power supply has a frame; a capture block disposed within the frame; an outer ramp disposed within the frame, the outer ramp configured to apply a pressure to a fastening component of a power cable disposed between the capture block and the outer ramp, wherein the pressure is along an outward direction; an inner ramp disposed adjacent to the outer ramp, the inner ramp configured to translate in a longitudinal direction; and a ramp screw disposed adjacent to the inner ramp, the ramp screw configured to, as it is tightened, cause the inner ramp to translate along the longitudinal direction, thereby causing the outer ramp to translate in the outward direction, thereby causing the outer ramp to apply the pressure against the fastening component.
Spiral lock electrical connection assembly
An electrical connector assembly for a wellhead penetrator includes a first connector including an insertion body and defining a bore, the bore being configured to receive an electrical conductor. The insertion body includes a helical engaging member and defines a helical slot. The assembly includes a second connector defining a cavity therein, the cavity being configured to receive at least a portion of the insertion body therein, and the cavity being tapered such that advancing the insertion body into the cavity causes the helical engaging member to compress radially inwards into engagement with the electrical conductor.
