A grounding clamp having a conductive clamp body with an upper jaw and a lower portion with a through hole. A lower portion chamber includes an activator pivotally mounted on an axle. The activator includes a partially threaded upper pawl portion and a lower bar. An eyebolt with a threaded rod is slidingly disposed in the throughhole. A spring also mounted on the axle, urges the threads on the activator into engagement with the eyebolt rod. A conductive head is disposed on the upper end of the eyebolt, while a latching element is on the lower end. Pushing the activator lower bar pivots the activator and disengages the pawl from the threaded rod so that the threaded rod slides in the through hole freely until the conductive head engages a conductor. The clamp is easily tightened by turning the eyebolt and easily disengaged with only minimal reverse turning.

CONDUCTOR INTERFACE GRABBING TOOL

The present disclosure provides a tool that grips a conductor interface of a wedge type electrical connector so that the conductor interface can be installed between a main conductor and a tap conductor being electrically and mechanically connected by the wedge type electrical connector. The tool includes a body, a carriage adjuster and a gripping carriage. The body has a first arm, a second arm and a back pad between the first arm and the second arm. The carriage adjuster is operatively coupled to the body, and the gripping carriage is coupled to the carriage adjuster. The second arm and the gripping carriage are used to grip the conductor interface in response to the operation of the carriage adjuster.

Tap clamp

A clamp provides electrical communication between a first conductor and a second conductor. The clamp includes a first housing portion having a first surface, a second surface, a first housing bore, and a cavity, the first housing bore extending along a longitudinal axis. The clamp further includes a clamp member at least partially disposed within the cavity of the first housing portion, the clamp member including a first clamp surface adjacent the second surface of the housing in a facing relationship. The clamp further includes a shaft oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis, the shaft coupling the first housing portion and the clamp member. The clamp further includes a second housing portion movably coupled to the first housing portion by the shaft, the second housing portion including a second housing bore and a second clamp surface, the second housing bore aligned with the longitudinal axis, the second clamp surface adjacent the first surface of the first housing portion in a facing relationship.

INSTALLATION ACCESSORIES FOR LINEMAN HOT STICKS

A hot stick installation accessory is provided. The accessory includes a main housing, a base, and a tool. The main housing has a holding region that holds an electrical component. The base can be removably secured to a body of the hot stick. The base is connected to the main housing for rotation about an axis parallel to the hot stick. The tool is secured to the base so that the tool moves along the axis and is operative alignment with a first area of the holding region. The tool is securable to a hook of the hot stick so that rotation of the hot stick, and thus of the hook, results in rotation of the tool with respect to the main housing.

GROUNDING CROSS CONNECTORS INCLUDING CLAMPING PADS FOR COUPLING AT LEAST TWO CONDUCTORS
20200412028 · 2020-12-31 · ·

Various implementations of grounding cross connectors are disclosed. The grounding cross connectors may be used to clamp together two or more, often perpendicular, conductors. In some implementations, a grounding cross connector includes an upper clamping pad and a lower clamping pad held together by a pair of threaded fasteners. A pair of perpendicular conductors may be placed in between the clamping pads and secured together by torqueing nuts on the threaded fasteners. The upper clamping pad may include a hook through which one of the threaded fasteners may pass, thereby allowing the upper clamping to rotate relative to the lower clamping pad.
