An electrical connection device comprises an electrical connector. The electrical connector comprises: an insulative body; a plurality of conductive terminals provided to the insulative body; a metal shell surrounding the insulative body and an outer shielding member. The metal shell comprises a top portion, two openings respectively formed at two sides of the top portion and two first ground pieces positioned opposite to a side where the top portion is present and extending outwardly respectively from the two openings. The outer shielding member comprises a main body transversally provided on the top portion of the metal shell and covering the two openings and two second ground pieces respectively extending outwardly from two ends of the main body, the two second ground pieces each have a penetrating hole penetrating from a top surface to a bottom surface. At least a part of each penetrating hole of the two second ground pieces receives the corresponding first ground piece. By that the outer shielding member covers the two openings of the metal shell, EMI may be prevented from being produced.

CONNECTING STRUCTURE

An electrical connector includes a housing formed of a fixed housing and a movable housing movable relative to the fixed housing. The connector further includes a terminal. The terminal includes a connecting portion to be connected to the electrical circuit board and a contact portion to be contacted with the mating connecting member. The terminal further includes a fixed side held portion, a movable side held portion, and an elastic portion. The connecting structure further includes a regulating portion for regulating the elastic portion from elastically deforming within a specific elastic deformation range. The elastic portion is configured to have a specific elastic deformation range. When the electrical connector is connected to the mating connecting member, the spring force is smaller than a holding force between the contact portion of the terminal and the mating connecting member in a direction that the electrical connector is pulled out.

Low profile connector and assembly of the same

A connector (100) and assembly of the same, the connector comprises an insulative housing (1) and a plurality of contacts (2) assembled onto the insulative housing (1), the insulative housing (1) defining a mating surface (11) and a mounting surface (12) opposite to the mating surface (11). Each contact (2) including a contact portion (21) arranged in the insulative housing (1) and a mounting portion (22) locating at the mounting surface (12) and protruding sidewardly beyond said insulative housing, the mounting portion (22) defines a soldering surface (222) for being soldered onto to said printed circuit board (200), said soldering surface (222) face toward the mounting surface (12). Therefore, when the connector (100) assembled to the printed circuit board (200), we could make full use of the height space at the up and down direction of the printed circuit board (200), thus greatly reducing the height space occupied by the connector (100).

A receptacle connector having a plurality of airflow holes positioned to avoid heat buildup inside a receptacle shell, preventing deformation to the housing of a short, high density connector during solder reflow. The airflow holes may be in a bent portion joining a top face and rear face of the shell. The receptacle connector may be mounted to a substrate, such as a printed circuit board, leaving a gap between the connector and the substrate, forming an airflow passage between the substrate and the receptacle connector, enabling heated air to reach mounting portions of terminals of the connector during soldering, but reducing heat buildup within the shell. The passage, alone or in combination with a cutout in a face of the shell, may expose terminal contacts of the receptacle connector to provide for easy inspection and rework of the solder joints between the terminal contacts and the substrate.
