An electrical connector includes a locking unit and a contact insert at least partially surrounded by the locking unit. At least one contact is arranged in and/or on the contact insert. The contact insert is formed from a contact body and a contact sleeve connected to the contact body. Furthermore, a contact insert and a method for producing an electrical connector are described.

High-current connector and method for mounting same

A high-current connector is provided, comprising an insulating body which has at least one contact carrier having at least one contact chamber, which has at least two through-openings on the plug-in side, and at least two electrically conductive plug-in contacts which are arranged parallel to one another in the contact chamber and each have a cable connection region at a first end and a plug-in region opposite at a second end, the plug-in regions of the plug-in contacts being guided through one of the through-openings each of the contact chamber. The high-current plug connector also has an electrically conductive connection element which is inserted into the contact chamber and which has at least two contact receptacles, into each of which one of the plug-in contacts is inserted interlockingly and frictionally by its plug-in region, and the at least two plug-in contacts are electrically conductively connected to one another by the connection element.

A locking plate portion is disposed so as to be movable in a lateral direction. A connection terminal is inserted while a locking piece of a connection portion of the connection terminal passes through an insertion groove of the locking plate portion Subsequently, an operating member is pushed in an arrow direction with respect to the locking plate portion and the locking plate portion is laterally moved by a wedge mechanism. Then, the locking piece is transferred to a locking portion provided in the front end side portion of the insertion groove. As a result, the locking portion locks the rear portion of the locking piece and a rearward movement of the connection terminal is regulated.

Primary locks with terminal serviceablity features for mixed connection coaxial cables

A connector apparatus including a housing, and a primary lock reinforcement. The housing includes at least one substantially cylindrical coaxial cavity therein. The coaxial cavity has a first end, a second end, and a locking finger. At least one stop is located proximate the second end. A locking finger is positioned intermediate the first end and the second end. The locking finger includes a locking tab, and an unlocking surface. The locking finger is formed to be flexible and capable of flexing between a lock position and an unlock position. The locking finger is biased toward the lock position. The primary lock reinforcement is placed in the housing and has an opening therein corresponding to the second end of the cylindrical coaxial cavity.

Locking Connector System

A locking connector system for releasably locking a first connector in mechanical engagement with a second connector. The locking connector system generally includes a first connector including a female coupler and a second connector including a male coupler, with the first and second connectors being adapted to mechanically connect to each other. The first connector includes an adjustable latch which selectively engages with a catch portion on the male coupler to lock the connectors together. The latch may be pressed downwardly, such as by use of a connected button, to release the latch from the catch portion and disconnect the connectors. The first connector is adapted to provide audible, visual, and tactile feedback to confirm when the latch engages with the catch portion.

CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY HAVING A TERMINAL POSITION ASSURANCE (TPA) DEVICE THAT IS CAM ACTUATED BY A SEAL RETAINER, AND A METHOD FOR OPERATING THEREOF
20230246384 · 2023-08-03 · ·

The connector assembly includes a terminal position assurance (TPA) device, and a seal retainer. A downwardly extending notch member of the seal retainer engages with a recess on an upper surface of an upper portion of the TPA device to form a cam linkage mechanism or a cam mechanical linkage for the TPA device and the seal retainer. The seal retainer, when pushed or inserted towards an outer housing, by way of the cam linkage mechanism with the TPA device, pushes the TPA device to one side such that the terminals within the outer housing remain unlocked. The seal retainer, when further pushed or inserted toward the outer housing, by way of the cam linkage mechanism, moves the TPA device laterally to an opposite side such that the TPA device blocks the terminals within the outer housing. A lower portion of the seal retainer is, at a pre-lock or full-lock position, engaged with mating locking members at a bottom portion of a terminal guidance member.
