Connector assembly

A connector assembly enables electrically safe disconnection and separation because it is possible to secure an interval between the point of time of separation of interlock terminals and the point of time of separation of power terminals when connectors are separated. The connector assembly can implement two steps of cutting power after restricting a lever in a locked state and then completely disconnecting connectors by additionally operating the lever by including an intermediate locking mechanism that restricts the lever for disconnecting connectors in a state in which interlock terminals of two connectors are separated from each other but power terminals of the two connectors are in contact with each other to disconnect and separate female and male connectors.

Connector lever with wire guide

An electrical connector having a connector housing and a lever. The connector housing has a first wall, a second wall and side walls which extend between the first wall and the second wall. Multiple contacts are positioned in contact receiving cavities of the housing. The multiple contacts have wires which extend therefrom. A lever is rotatably mounted relative to the connector housing. The lever has lever arms and a lever handle. The lever arms extend from the side walls of the housing and the lever handle extends between the lever arms. A wire guide is positioned on the lever. The lever is rotatable between a pre-insertion position and an insertion position. When the lever is in the insertion position, the wire guide engages the wires which extend from the housing to direct the wires to a designated position.

POWER-CIRCUIT BREAKING DEVICE

A power-circuit breaking device includes a receptacle and a plug. The receptacle includes a power terminal and a signal terminal. The plug includes a main terminal and a sub-terminal. The plug includes a plug housing, a lever which is attached to the plug housing, a lock slider which is attached to the plug housing, and a sub-connector which is supported by the lock slider. The plug housing holds the main terminal. The sub-connector holds the sub-terminal. When the lock slider slides, the sub-connector moves. When the lever is located at a closed position, the main terminal is connected to the power terminal. When the lock slider is located at a connected position, the sub-terminal is connected to the signal terminal.

A lever-type connector has a male housing (10) including a bottom wall (11) formed with through hole (23, 24) and a receptacle (12) extending forward from an outer periphery of the bottom wall (11). A female housing (30) is capable of fitting into the receptacle (12). A lever (33) is mounted on the female housing (30) and connects the male and female housings (10, 30) by being rotated from an initial position to a connection position. An arm (36) of the lever (33) is between an outer surface of the female housing (30) and an inner surface of the receptacle (12). First and second closing portions (40, 41) are on the arm (36) and are configured to close a clearance between an upper opening (13) of the receptacle (12) and the lever (33) by being above the through holes (23, 24) with the lever (33) at the connection position.

A connector includes a lever drawing and fitting a first housing and a second housing by moving from a temporary lock position to a final lock position. The lever includes a lever-side lock portion elastically deformable in a first direction away from a surface of the first housing, and including a reinforcing rib that enhances rigidity against a deformation of the lever-side lock protrusion. The first housing includes a housing-side lock portion which locks the lever-side lock portion when the lever is in the temporary lock position, which inhibits movement of the lever to the final lock position during locking, and which permits the lever to move to the final lock position when the locking is released. The second housing includes a lock releasing portion which pushes the lever-side lock portion in the first direction so as to release the locking.

An operating member (11) includes a plate-like arm (37) configured to cover an outer surface of a housing (10) and is displaceable to an initial position and a connection position. A resilient piece (48) is provided on an outer edge of the arm (37) and projects along a plate surface of the arm (37). The resilient piece (48) restricts a displacement of the operating member (11) from the initial position to the connection position by resiliently locking a lock receiving portion (32) while being unlocked from the lock receiving portion (32) by being pressed by an unlocking portion (15) of a mating housing (12) and allowing displacement of the operating member (11) to the connection position. The resilient piece (48) is shaped to be delectable and deformable in a direction along the plate surface of the arm portion (37) when being pressed by the unlocking portion (15).

An operating member (11) is displaceable to an assembled position, an initial position and a connection position with respect to a housing (10) and proceeds with a connecting operation of the housing and a mating housing (12) by cam engagement with the mating housing (12) when being displaced from the initial position to the connection position. The housing (10) includes resilient locks (25, 26) configured to restrict a displacement of the operating member (11) in a direction opposite to that from the assembled position toward the initial position by resiliently locking the operating member (11) at the assembled position and restrict a displacement of the operating member (11) in a return direction from the initial position to the assembled position by resiliently locking the operating member (11) at the initial position.

Connector and connector assembly

A connector configured to be fitted with a mating connector includes a main housing, a sub-housing supported on the main housing to be slidable in a fitting direction with respect to the main housing in which the connector is fitted with the mating connector, and an operating member pivotably and slidably supported on the main housing. The main housing moves closer to the mating connector when the operating member is pivoted from a first posture to a second posture. The sub-housing moves in the fitting direction when the operating member slides from the second posture in a direction different from the fitting direction. The sub-housing has an erroneous fitting prevention part abutting against the mating connector in a state of incomplete fitting of the connector with the mating connector.

It is aimed to provide a connector capable of suppressing opening deformation of an operating member and avoiding enlargement. A U-shaped operating member (11) is arranged to straddle a housing (10) and is linearly movable from an initial position to a connection position while arms (37) slide on the housing (10) and proceeds with a connecting operation of the housing (10) and a mating housing (12) by cam engagement of the arms (37) with the mating housing (12) during a movement. The housing (10) includes support shafts (18) and the arms (37) include linearly extending long grooves (39) into which the support shafts (18) are inserted to be slidable in contact therewith. The support shaft (18) includes jaws (19) and the long groove (39) includes an engaging edge (44) configured to contact the jaws (19) in an opening direction of the arm (37).
