Electric connector and electric connector assembly

An electrical connector includes a housing and a number of mating modules assembled to the housing. The mating module includes conductive terminals, metal shield surrounding members and cables. The conductive terminal includes a tail portion and a mating portion. The conductive terminal extends along a mating direction. The metal shield surrounding member includes a sleeve portion surrounding a periphery of the mating portion. The cable includes a core electrically connected to the tail portion. Compared with the prior art, the electrical connector disclosed in the present disclosure is a cable electrical connector. Besides, the conductive terminal extends along the mating direction, thereby simplifying the structural design of the conductive terminal. The present disclosure also discloses an electrical connector assembly having the electrical connector.

Communication system having a receptacle cage with an electrical connector

A communication system having a circuit board with an airflow opening includes a receptacle cage configured to be mounted to the circuit board adjacent a communication connector. The receptacle cage has walls including a front wall, a rear wall and side walls defining a cavity. A module channel is defined in the cavity configured to receive a pluggable module. The module channel has a module port at the front wall that receives the pluggable module. An airflow channel is defined by at least one of the walls of the receptacle cage located between the module channel and the circuit board. The airflow channel is configured to be in flow communication with the airflow opening in the circuit board for cooling the pluggable module in the module channel. The airflow channel has an airflow port at the front wall.

A receptacle cage includes shielding walls forming a module channel configured to receive a pluggable module. The shielding walls include a first end wall, a first side wall extending from the first end wall and a second side wall extending from the first end wall opposite the first side wall. The first end wall, the first side wall and the second side wall form the module channel. The receptacle cage includes a hood extending from the first end wall forming a chamber located outside of the module channel. The receptacle cage includes a cage polarization slot formed in the first end wall at a first distance from the first side wall. The cage polarization slot is open to the chamber. The cage polarization slot is configured to receive a module polarization feature of the pluggable module such that the module polarization feature is located in the chamber and covered by the hood.

Power distribution system

A power distribution system includes a track having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second ends. The track defines a channel extending along the longitudinal axis. A plurality of power cables is positioned within the channel. The power distribution system further includes an electrical hub having a body coupled to the second end of the track. A plurality of wafers is supported by the body and stacked on top of each other to define a set of terminals. The set of terminals is electrically connected to the plurality of power cables. A power receptacle is supported by the body and electrically connected to the plurality of wafers.

Connector

A connector includes a housing, a first sandwich structure, and a support structure. The housing includes two accommodating cavities vertically adjacent to each other, where each accommodating cavity is used for receiving a docking connector. The first sandwich structure is disposed between the two accommodating cavities. The support structure penetrates two side walls of the housing and two side walls of the first sandwich structure to fix the first sandwich structure on the housing.
