20170310024 · 2017-10-26 ·

The subject of the present invention is a device for the electromagnetically compatible connection of electrical conductors (3.sub.1, 3.sub.2, 3.sub.n) with screening layers (2.sub.1, 2.sub.2, 2.sub.n) against interference fields, particularly in motor vehicles. The conductors (3.sub.1, 3.sub.2, 3.sub.n) to be connected are held in a housing (5) of the device, also known as a high-voltage distributor. In order to guarantee the electromagnetic screening, the screening layers (2.sub.1, 2.sub.2, 2.sub.n) of the stripped cables are folded backwards and pulled over contact sections (1.sub.1, 1.sub.2, 1.sub.n) of the housing (5) provided for the purpose, as a result of which electrical contacting occurs. The screening layers (2.sub.1, 2.sub.2, 2.sub.n) are affixed by one clamp (4.sub.1, 4.sub.2, 4.sub.n) respectively.

The first terminal receiving chamber is provided with an opening which is opened to a side opposite to a side where the second terminal receiving chamber is placed. The opening is opened, from one end of the first terminal receiving chamber at a side of a terminal insertion port of the second terminal receiving chamber through which one of the inner terminals is inserted, to a wall at the other end of the first terminal receiving chamber, so that another one of the inner terminals is received in the first terminal receiving chamber through the opening.

High voltage vertical disk ferrule, and method for assembling thereof
11670892 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A high voltage vertical disk ferrule, and method for assembling thereof, the ferrule being stamped and having a vertical disk-like structure, which is not necessarily round or does not necessarily have any roundness. The high voltage vertical disk ferrule has an opening residing and traveling over the wire core and/or a wire braided shield, to which an end portion of the wire braided shield is affixed to the ferrule, or between two ferrules, such that a portion of the wire braided shield is flared and substantially perpendicular to the direction along which the wire core extends. The high voltage vertical disk slides over the core insulation, and towards the outer insulation when the wire is pushed. The wire braided shield develops a natural spring force against the ferrule, and causes it to be accordioned, pleated, or folded against itself, and therefore pushes the vertical disk ferrule forward.

TERMINAL MODULE, AND CONNECTOR

A terminal module disclosed by this specification is provided with a shielded cable including two coated wires, a conductive shield portion for covering outer peripheries of the two coated wires and a sheath portion for covering an outer periphery of the shield portion, inner conductors to be connected to the coated wires, an insulating terminal accommodating member for accommodating end parts of the coated wires together with the inner conductors, and an outer conductor for accommodating the terminal accommodating member. An axis center β of a shield-side pull-out portion for pulling out the coated wires in the shield portion is radially shifted with respect to axis centers a of inner conductor-side pull-out portions for pulling out the coated wires in the inner conductors. A wire insertion path into which linking portions are insertable is formed in a lower wall of the terminal accommodating member.

Termination of electrical cable, and method of making

A cable termination and method are disclosed that electrically and mechanically terminates a bundled cable that requires a radial space only slightly greater than the cable diameter. An electrically-conductive ferrule is connected to an end of a cable, with a conductive adhesive such as a conductive epoxy injected into the ferrule to mechanically connect the ferrule to the cable end, and to electrically couple the ferrule to a shield of the cable, such as a braided wire shield. The ferrule is received by a connector housing, such as being inserted between a pair of connector housing halves, to retain the ferrule mechanically coupled to the housing, and to electrically couple the ferrule to the housing.
