Method and device for controlling power strip
A method for controlling a power strip includes: acquiring a present temperature parameter of an ambient environment; determining a presently-allowed maximum power of the power strip based on the present temperature parameter; acquiring a total power of electronic devices presently powered by the power strip; and controlling the power strip to cut off power supply to at least one of the electronic devices when the total power is greater than the presently-allowed maximum power. In the technical solution, the presently-allowed maximum power of the power strip can be adjusted automatically based on the present temperature parameter of the ambient environment of the power strip, which improves flexibility of adjusting the maximum power.
Overheating destructive disconnecting method for switch
An overheating destructive disconnecting method for switch, whereby an operating member applies a first elastic force under normal conditions to enable the movable conductive member contacts a first conductive member and a second conductive member to form a conductive circuit; and a second elastic force to enable the movable conductive member to separate from the first conductive member or the second conductive member. The installation position of the overheating destructive member is used to receive heat energy instead of allowing current to flow thereto. When the overheating destructive member is destructed or deformed under a fail temperature condition, lessening or loss of the force applied by the first elastic force towards the movable conductive member causes the movable conductive member to no longer allow electrical conduction to the first conductive member and the second conductive member, thereby breaking the current-carrying circuit.
FEED THROUGH VARISTORS WITH THERMALLY-ACTIVATED OVERRIDE
A varistor (50) comprising: a feed-through conductor (52) and a varistor disc (72) interposed between, and electrically connected to, conductor layers disposed on opposite surfaces of the varistor disc (72), the conductor layers being electrically isolated from one another; wherein the varistor disc (72) comprises a through aperture (60) through which the feed-through conductor extends; a first one of the conductor layers is electrically connected to the feed-through conductor; a second one of the conductor layers is, in normal use, permanently electrically connected to ground the varistor (50). This configuration enables one side of the disc (72) to be connected to the feed-through terminal, and the other side of the disc (72) to be connected to a ground plane, such as an earthed bulkhead of a wall or cabinet, via a metal plate forming part of the varistor (50) housing.
SAFETY GROUNDED ARTIFICIAL TREE STAND
An apparatus for electrically connecting a first structural member and a second structural member is disclosed. The apparatus has a first mating connector assembly configured to be attached to the first structural member, the first mating connector assembly including a first neutral terminal ring, a second mating connector assembly configured to be attached to the second structural member, the second mating connector assembly including a second neutral terminal ring, a first neutral lead electrically connected to the first neutral terminal ring, and a second neutral lead electrically connected to the second neutral terminal ring. The first neutral terminal ring is slidably disposed adjacent to the second neutral terminal ring when the first mating connector assembly and the second mating connector assembly are in contact. A first wall member forming the first neutral terminal ring includes a first plurality of slits.
VARISTORS
An electrical connector provided with a varistor, and to a protection device for incorporation into an electrical connector and having a varistor comprising at least two pins including a first pin which is a live (502) or neutral (504) pin and a second pin which is an earth pin (506), the first and second pins (502, 504, 506) extending through respective apertures (512) in a varistor plate (514) which has first and second faces, wherein a first conductive layer on the first face of the varistor plate (514) connects electrically to the first pin (502, 504) and a second conductive region on the second face of the varistor plate connects electrically to the second pin (506), so that in response to an excessive voltage across the first (502, 504) and second (506) pins the varistor plate will conduct electricity between the first (502, 504) and second (506) pins. The arrangement can easily be adopted in connectors conforming to existing standards, such as existing mains electrical plugs (500).
