Herein is an electrical connector with an inner conductor extending in the mating direction, a main body portion extending in the mating direction to accommodate one end of the inner conductor and to which a coaxial cable is attached, and a mating portion extending in the mating direction to accommodate the other end of the inner conductor and mates with a counterpart connector. An accommodating space in the main body portion accommodates one end of the inner conductor. An attachment aperture communicates with the accommodating space by extending in the lateral direction perpendicular to the mating direction and attaches the coaxial cable to the main body portion to connect its center conductor to one end of the inner conductor. The attachment aperture of the main body portion includes a tapered portion decreasing in diameter toward the accommodating space at the end proximal to the accommodating space.

L-TYPE COAXIAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING L-TYPE COAXIAL CONNECTOR

An L-type coaxial connector is connected to a coaxial cable including a central conductor and an external conductor, and includes a housing, a bushing, and a socket. The housing includes a housing main body, a back-side section, and a crimp section. The housing main body has a first cut section. The back-side section includes a lid section and an extending section extending from the lid section and above which the external conductor is placed. The crimp section extends from the extending section, and its leading end section is bent so as to be opposed to the extending section such that the coaxial cable is interposed therebetween. The extending section has a second cut section, and a joining member joining the external conductor and the extending section is present inside the second cut section.

PLUG CONNECTOR COUPLED TO RECEPTACLE CONNECTOR

A plug connector coupled to a receptacle connector is presented, comprising: a conductor for signals; a ring-shaped conductor for ground, the conductor for ground surrounding the conductor for signals; a ring-shaped insulator surrounding the conductor for signals and being surrounded by the conductor for ground, and insulating between the conductor for signals and the conductor for ground; a lower body; and an upper body coupled onto the lower body. The conductor for signals includes a lower portion protruding below a first portion of the top of the insulator, a middle portion inserted into a hollow portion of the first portion, and an upper portion protruding above the first portion. The conductor for ground includes a lower portion protruding below the first portion and an upper portion surrounding the first portion. The lower body includes a lower housing, such that the upper portion is accommodated in the hollow portion.

The conductive coupling element includes a plurality of spring fingers that, in a rest position, extend radially inward from the first portion of the coupling element to define an opening having a diameter that is smaller than the second inner diameter such that the coupling element is configured to receive the central conductor having a diameter equal to or less than the second diameter and provide an electrical connection between the electrical contact and the central conductor.

A blind mate connector assembly comprises a first manifold and a second manifold removably coupled to the first manifold that defines a connector housing positionable between a primary electronics assembly and a secondary electronics assembly. A plurality of connector cavities are defined between the first and second manifolds. A plurality of right angle cable connectors, each situated within one of the plurality of connector cavities, extend partially through the connector housing to facilitate blind mate connection between the primary electronics assembly and the secondary electronics assembly. The connector housing comprises at least one mechanical float mechanism configured to facilitate movement of each right angle cable connector in multiple degrees of freedom. The connectors are replaceable by disassembling the first and second manifolds.
