Barrel crimp retention feature for connector with braided wire
A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The inner and outer barrels respectively include first and second features that cooperate with one another to form a retention feature. The cable assembly has a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The first feature is arranged beneath the metallic shield, and the second feature is arranged over the metallic shield. At least one of the first and second features extends in a radial direction relative to the other of the first and second features to capture the metallic shield with the retention feature.
Barrel crimp retention feature for connector with braided wire
A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The cable assembly further includes a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The inner barrel includes a retention feature that is arranged beneath the metallic shield. The retention feature protrudes radially outward from the inner barrel to an outermost diameter. The outer barrel includes a crimped portion that is arranged adjacent to the retention feature and has an innermost diameter that is less than the outermost diameter to capture the metallic shield therebetween and prevent the outer barrel from axial movement relative to the inner barrel.
Connector for automotive applications
Connector for automotive applications, comprising two elongated signal contacts extending generally parallel to one another, each signal contact having a first connection portion for connecting the connector to a mating connector and a second connection portion for connecting the signal contacts to respective wires of a cable, wherein a distance between center axes of the first connection portions differs from a distance between center axes of the second connection portions.
ELECTRICAL PLUG-IN CONNECTOR AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ELECTRICAL PLUG-IN CONNECTOR
An electrical plug-in connector for differential signal transmission, having an external conductor contact element, a dielectric and at least one internal conductor contact element pair for differential signal transmission. The dielectric extends along a longitudinal axis through the external conductor contact element. The internal conductor contact element pair has a first internal conductor contact element and a second internal conductor contact element which extend along the longitudinal axis through the dielectric. The external conductor contact element and/or the dielectric have a compensation geometry in order to compensate for an asymmetry of the internal conductor contact element pair with respect to the longitudinal axis. As an alternative or in addition, it is provided that the internal conductor contact element pair has a compensation geometry in order to compensate for an asymmetry of the external conductor contact element and/or of the dielectric with respect to the longitudinal axis.
ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A CONNECTOR AND A CABLE
Assembly comprising a cable having at least two signal wires, and a connector connected to the shielded cable, wherein the connector comprises at least two elongated inner signal contacts each connected to a wire of the cable, wherein the connector comprises a shielding portion formed of an inner shield and an outer shield, and wherein the inner shield at least approximately completely surrounds the wires of the cable and the outer shield at least partially surrounds the inner shield.
Hybrid connector for high speed wireline communication
A hybrid connector for a data cable, including: a galvanic connector having a plurality of connectors configured to make a galvanic connection with a plurality of connectors in a receptacle wherein a first portion of the plurality connectors are power connections and a second portion of the plurality of connectors are data connections; a plurality of millimeter wave wireless transmitter/receivers (TRx) configured to transmit/receive data from/to the hybrid connector; and a plurality of millimeter wave antennas surrounding the galvanic connector each antenna connected to one of the plurality of millimeter wave TRx's, wherein the plurality of millimeter wave antennas are configured to transmit/receive millimeter wave data signals.
Connector structure
The connector structure selectively uses either a UTP connector or an STP connector. The UTP connector includes UTP connection terminals connected to respective electric wires of a UTP cable and a UTP dielectric having a pair of housing portions in which the UTP connection terminals are housed. The STB connector includes STP connection terminals connected to respective electric wires of an STP cable and an STP dielectric having a pair of housing portions in which the STP connection terminals are housed. In the UTP dielectric, at least a partition wall for partitioning the pair of housing portions is made of a material having a relatively high dielectric constant. In the STP dielectric, at least a partition wall for partitioning the pair of housing portions is made of a material having a relatively low dielectric constant.
Electrical connector
A housing holds a contact. A shield member is held in the housing and blocks electromagnetic waves, and the contact is arranged inside the shield member. The housing is provided with a ground spring mount portion, which is a portion to which the ground spring member is to be mounted. The ground spring member electrically connects the shield member and an external grounding member when the ground spring member is mounted to the ground spring mount portion.
