A biodegradable electrical enclosure is provided and has a plate having a rear mounting surface and a front appearance surface. An aperture extends through the plate for receiving an electrical component. The plate is formed of a natural fiber thermoset composite (NFTC) having at least one fire-retardant additive.
Sealant detection apparatus, method and assembly
Apparatus, assembly and method for investigating the integrity of a seal and sealant contained in a sealing fitting used in hazardous locations. The apparatus/assembly can include signal transmitters and signal receivers provided on a conduit system on either side of a sealing fitting. The apparatus/assembly can include probes placed on either side of a sealant within a sealing fitting, the probes placed in probe ports provided through the wall of the sealing fitting.
WOVEN TUBULAR THERMAL SLEEVE AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A thermal sleeve for routing and protecting elongate members and method of construction thereof are provided. The sleeve has a tubular woven wall extending along a central axis between opposite open ends with an outer reflective foil layer fixed thereto. The wall is woven with lengthwise extending warp yarns and circumferentially extending fill yarns. The fill yarns include first and second fill yarns bundled in side-by-side abutting relation as a single pick, thereby forming discrete single pick bundles in axially spaced relation from one another. The first fill yarn is provided as a standard monofilament, while the second fill yarn is provided having a low melt material melted and bonded to the abutting first fill yarn and to portions of the abutting warp yarns, wherein the spaces between the discrete bundles remain substantially free of melted material, thereby further enhancing longitudinal flexibility of the sleeve.
FIRE PROTECTION ELEMENT
A fire protection element is useful for the separation of openings passing through walls or ceilings, in particular of line passages. The fire protection element has a core consisting of a filling material and a frame. The frame surrounds the core at least in some sections in a circumferential direction and is fixedly connected to the core. Furthermore, the frame is made from an intumescent material and has a reinforcing element.
FIRE PROTECTION ELEMENT
A fire protection element is useful for the separation of openings passing through walls or ceilings, and in particular useful for line passages. The fire protection element has a molded part with a honeycomb structure made from intumescent material.
WATER MIST PROTECTION FOR FORCED VENTILATION INTERSTITIAL SPACES
Water mist fire protection systems and methods for the protection of data centers having a raised floor defining an interstitial space beneath the floor. The systems and methods include the location of a plurality of automatic water mist nozzles above and/or beneath the floor to generate a water mist for effectively addressing a fire in the presence of a flow of forced air ventilation through the interstitial space. The systems and methods of water mist fire protection include the interconnection of the automatic water mist nozzles to a water supply to provide for dry pipe or preaction systems and methods. Water mist fire protection of data centers using fire propagating cable is also provided.
Line leadthrough with integrated smoke stopper
A line penetration is useful for routing lines through a building part. The line penetration includes: a jacket tube, a base part, which is disposed at a first axial end of the jacket tube and has a receiving space, surrounding a routing opening, for a firestop material, an annular, membrane-like sealing element, which is disposed at the first axial end of the jacket tube, and at least one sealing plug, which is disposed at a second end of the jacket tube.
A FIRE COLLAR
This invention relates to a fire collar (10). The fire collar includes a body (11) that is constructed from a flexible, elongate strip of steel (12) having a first end portion (13) associated with one end thereof and an opposing second end portion (14) associated with the opposite end thereof. The fire collar (10) also includes actuation means, including a plurality of torsion springs (28) manufactured from spring steel, such as spring steel having a diameter of 4 mm or 5 mm. Each torsion spring (28) includes a spring body (29) comprising one or more helical coils, and two tails, (30) and (31), that extend outwardly away from opposite ends of the body.
Fire and smoke containment services transit unit and an associated method
The fire and smoke containment services transit unit includes a casing constructed from a material having a thermal conductivity of less than 5 watts per meter per Kelvin. The casing defines a first opening at a first end and a second opening at the second end. Intermediate the first and second end is the internal volume that is encased by the casing. The internal volume and each of the openings are sized to allow services such as cables, pipes, etc. to be threaded through the services transit unit. An intumescent material is housed centrally within the internal volume. Prior to exposure to the heat of a fire, the intumescent material maintains a slim profile. However, when the transit unit is exposed to the heat associated with a building fire, it swells and thereby seals the internal volume against the passage of fire, smoke or heated gases through the transit unit.
ELECTRICAL BOX
The present disclosure is directed to a plastic fire resistant electrical box. The electrical box includes one or more walls having a substrate formed from a fire resistant intumescent material. The substrate can include a coating formed from an intumescent material composition applied to at least one of an inner and outer surface.
