11502491 · 2022-11-15 · ·

At least two cascaded chains of intelligent support boxes linked by optical cable provide the needed elements to link the electric AC power line and low voltage DC power lines to the many known outlets and switches (wiring devices) and their loads be it AC or DC operated, with the AC and DC lines are separately drawn through separated conduits and ducts safely and accurately controlled by an home controller and/or via a command converter and a distributor.

Removable electrical-accessory module, an electrical box for receiving such an accessory module, and a replacement method for replacing such an accessory module

An electrical-accessory module (130) for engaging in an electrical box (110) includes a casing (131) made of insulating material, and that includes a side wall (132) that is closed at the front by a front wall (134) for defining an inside space for receiving an electrical mechanism (140). The electrical-accessory module includes firstly snap-fastener elements (137) adapted to catch onto the electrical box, which snap-fastener elements include at least one catch member (137A) that is movable between a retracted position in which it does not hinder the insertion of the casing into the electrical box, and an extended position in which it is adapted to catch directly onto the electrical box, and secondly release elements (137C) for releasing the snap-fastener elements, which release elements are accessible via the front, through an access opening (139) provided in the front wall, so as to return the catch member into its retracted position.

Sconce box assembly for shallow wall cavities and various wallboard thicknesses
09739465 · 2017-08-22 · ·

A sconce box assembly for mounting sconces on walls of various wallboard thicknesses and shallow wall cavities with no disruption to the surrounding wall. The sconce box assembly includes an electrical box having a sidewall, a back wall, an electrical cavity, and wing bosses extending from the sidewall. First rotatable wings secured to the wing bosses are adapted for rotation between a retracted position, in which the rotatable wings are positioned inside the sidewall perimeter, and an extended position in which the rotatable wings are positioned outside the sidewall perimeter. Retracting the wings facilitates insertion of the electrical box through a hole in a wall. Extending the wings facilitates tightening the wings and clamping the electrical box to the wallboard. The invention contemplates at least one second rotatable wing that may be used optionally in place of the first rotatable wing in order to accommodate attachment to various thicknesses of wallboards.

LIGHTING JUNCTION BOX
20220034488 · 2022-02-03 ·

A lighting-junction-box-assembly-for-remodel (hereinafter, “assembly”) has a lighting-junction-box, leg-springs attached to the lighting-junction-box, and mounting-tabs attached to the lighting-junction-box. The leg-springs are used to (temporarily) hold (by friction) the assembly within a hole in an existing ceiling, sized to fit the assembly. While the leg-springs are (temporarily) holding the assembly within the hole in the existing ceiling, other/different holes within extension-portions of the mounting-tabs are used to secure the entire assembly to the existing ceiling, via mechanical fasteners passing through the extension-portion holes and into the existing ceiling. An existing ceiling may be retrofitted with this assembly to have a lighting-junction-box where desired/needed in that existing ceiling; and as such, this assembly is particularly useful in remodeling situations (applications); however, the assembly may also be used in new construction.

JUNCTION BOX MOUNTED TO BE FLUSH WITH WALL SURFACE AND CONVENIENT FOR LINE REPAIR

The present disclosure discloses a junction box mounted to be flush with a wall surface and convenient for line repair, and belongs to the technical field of junction boxes. The junction box includes a junction box body and a flip cover body. A top surface of one part of the junction box body sinks to form a step surface; the step surface extends to an edge of the junction box body; the flip cover body is hinged to a first end of the junction box body; the flip cover body is clamped on the junction box body; and the flip cover body is fitted to the step surface and presses against a second end of the junction box body.

Enclosure and arrangement for recess mounting of a camera or camera head
09723183 · 2017-08-01 · ·

The present invention relates to an enclosure for recess mounting of a camera or camera head in a recess of a surface, the enclosure comprising an attachment portion, a cable sealing portion being adapted to seal against an outer surface of the cable extending through the cable sealing portion, and a circumferential wall portion adapted to extend along a closed path in a circumferential direction and in a first direction extending from the attachment portion towards the cable sealing portion, wherein at least a portion of the circumferential wall portion is formed of a flexible and/or elastic material such that the cable sealing portion is movable relative the attachment portion. The present invention also relates to an arrangement for recess mounting of a camera or camera head in a recess of a surface.

FIREWALL INSERT BOX
20170271858 · 2017-09-21 ·

The invention described herein is a fire protection device in the form of an insert designed to be quickly installed in new or existing electrical boxes located in firewalls. This insert is comprised of a material designed to withstand high direct heat and serve as a barrier to the passage of direct heat or smoke and gases through firewalls rated under ASTM E-119. The insert features a flanged open end which overlaps any gaps between the existing electrical box and the wall. The back wall of the insert box may have either openings to permit wires to pass through to the electrical device or a plug-harness assembly which obviates the use of holes in the back of the insert box.

Support device for use with electrical box

A support device can have an opening to receive electrical cable or conduit and a gate that is configured to bend between an open configuration and a closed configuration relative to the opening. A locking tab can be provided configured to be selectively engaged with the gate to secure the gate in the closed configuration.

INTERFACE ASSEMBLY

An interface component for insertion in a certain-sized connection box placed for another component such as a switch or other electrical mechanism. The interface component may bring in new capabilities plus maintain the capabilities of the removed component. The box need not be removed, or if the boxed is removed the structure or space encompassing the box need not be enlarged. Further, no new wiring is necessarily needed. This placement or substitution may be particularly applicable to rooms of hotels, motels, and other similar facilities. Neither time nor expense of redoing structure to hold a larger box or provide more space or wiring is needed. In many cases, there is not adequate space to add components for providing additional capabilities to a room.

Resilient aperture cover for electrical box
11398721 · 2022-07-26 · ·

An electrical box assembly includes an electrical box structure including an interior defined by a plurality of walls with an aperture formed through one of the walls for providing access to the interior of the box structure. An aperture cover extends over the aperture. The aperture is formed from a resiliently flexible material and includes a slit forming feature for prescribing a location of a slit for selectively providing access to the interior of the electrical box structure. The resiliency of the aperture cover urges the aperture cover to a closed position of the slit to minimize air passage through the aperture cover.
