Flexible, pressure-balanced cable assembly

Some embodiments include a flexible, pressure-balanced cable assembly. The cable assembly has a tubular-shaped flexible outer sleeve that surrounds an electrical cable. A plurality of seals is positioned along the length of the flexible sleeve within the space formed between the inner surface of the flexible sleeve and the outer surface of the electrical cable. The seals partition the space into a plurality of individual chambers. Each chamber is filled with dielectric fluid. The seals are independently and bi-directionally movable in response to a pressure difference between the inside of the cable assembly and the external environment thereby balancing the pressure between the inside of the cable assembly and the external environment.

A dispenser apparatus for a curable liquid material is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a flexible bag defining a first compartment for accommodating a first component of a curable liquid material, and a second compartment for accommodating a second component of the curable liquid material and adapted to communicate with the first chamber to enable mixing of the first and second components to initiate curing of the curable liquid material. A first clamp temporarily prevents mixing of the first and second components, and an elongate nozzle communicates with the second compartment to dispense the mixed curable liquid material therefrom. A second clamp temporarily prevents passage of the curable liquid material from the second compartment to the nozzle.

Method for preparing an HVDC accessory

A method for preparing an HVDC cable for jointing or termination includes the step of providing a section of an HVDC cable comprising a conductor surrounded by a first semiconducting layer, and at least one insulation layer of a first polymer material surrounding the first semiconducting layer, where the insulation layer comprises conductive volatile by-products. A tape of a second polymer material is provided, where the additional layer comprises conductive volatile by-products. The tape is lapped onto the insulation layer thereby forming an additional layer. Heat is applied to crosslink the additional layer and redistribute the conductive volatile by-products.

ENERGY EFFICIENT BUSHING FOR A TRANSFORMER

A bushing for a transformer is provided, the bushing comprising an elongate enclosure body to accommodate a conductor extending along a longitudinal axis, the conductor having a first terminal end a second terminal end, the ends extending from opposite sides of the enclosure body; and a mounting flange fitted to the enclosure body to enable the bushing to be mounted to an enclosure of the transformer. The enclosure body comprises two electrically insulating layers partially surrounding the conductor, a first layer of the insulating layers being substantially provided by a first polymeric material and a second layer of the insulating layers being substantially provided by a second polymeric material, the layers being arranged about the conductor in such a manner that the bushing is substantially cavity-free. In an embodiment, the first layer defines an inner core, with the second layer providing an outer cover which at least partially covers the inner core.

Water-stop structure for wire harness

A water-stop structure including a water-stop tube is provided in which the water-stop tube can be brought into intimate contact with a water-stop region in a wire harness having a steep thickness gradient and thus water-stop performance is improved. The wire harness includes a first portion and a second portion that is thinner than the first portion. An inner water-stop tube covers the water-stop region ranging from the first portion to the second portion in a state where the inner water-stop tube is heated and shrunk. An outer water-stop tube covers the inner water-stop tube at a position between a portion on the first portion side and a portion on the second portion side in the water-stop region in a state where the outer water-stop tube is heated and shrunk.

Electric device comprising a feedthrough of a cable through a housing wall

An electric device includes a housing and a cable. The housing has a pipe bracket disposed on the housing. The pipe bracket includes an interior pathway extending from a free-end of the pipe bracket into the housing. The free-end of the pipe bracket has teeth thereon. The cable has a union nut and a sleeve. The sleeve has a crimped section attached to the cable such that the crimped section is non-displaceable. The sleeve further has a toothed annular surface. In an installed state of the cable to the housing, a feedthrough portion of the cable extends through the interior pathway of the pipe bracket and into the housing. The union nut encompasses the sleeve and is attached to the pipe bracket to thereby press the toothed annular surface of the sleeve against the teeth of the pipe bracket such that the cable is fixed rotationally to the housing.

The present disclosure describes sealing boots for protecting an optical interconnection. A sealing boot may include a main body having an interior cavity, the interior cavity having an annular recess adjacent to one end of the main body, the annular recess configured to receive a feature of a remote radio unit, and a neck merging with the opposing end of the main body and having a cylindrical inner surface that defines a bore that is continuous with the cavity of the main body, the inner surface having an inner diameter that is less than an inner diameter of the interior cavity of the main body. The sealing boot is configured to surround at least a portion of a fixed active optical connector when the fixed active optical connector is plugged into the remote radio unit.

Resin pot component for an inspectable barrier cable gland

A resin pot assembly for use with a barrier cable gland is provided. The resin pot assembly is shaped and dimensioned to locate within an internal cavity of a cooperating barrier cable gland and has a closable end configured to seal onto a cable sheath of a cable in an installed condition. The resin pot assembly has two, coaxial components configured in the installed condition to surround a plurality of individually electrically insulated conductors extending out of the cable sheath. A first hollow component in the form of a clear cylinder provides the closable end of the resin pot assembly and a second hollow component, which is rigid, provides an pen end of the resin pot assembly and is axially spaced apart from the closable end of the resin pot assembly. The resin pot assembly operatively receives a resin mix therein.
