Moreover, during operation, the hair-styling tool may output or provide one or more discharges, such as: a steam discharge, an oil-formulation discharge, and/or a steam-and-oil-formulation discharge. The discharge flow may be selectable or dynamically adjusted based at least in part on the hair type of the individual, a predefined preference of the individual, and/or a predefined preference of a hair stylist. Moreover, the one or more discharges may be output of or provided from a head in the hair-styling tool. This head may include multiple prongs or tines that are used, in conjunction with the one or more discharges, to detangle or style an individual's hair.

Hair dryer

A hair dryer comprises a fan, a heater, a temperature sensor, and a controller. The heater is disposed at the airflow output end of the fan and used to heat the airflow output by the fan. The temperature sensor is pointed to the hair, receiving the infrared light radiated by the hair to obtain the temperature of the hair, determining the dryness of the hair according to at least one of the temperature of the hair and the rate of temperature variation of the hair, and outputting a corresponding control signal. The controller is electrically connected with the fan, the heater and the temperature sensor, and controlling at least one of the rotation speed of the fan and the heating power of the heater according to the control signal. The above-mentioned hair dryer not only can prevent from hair overheating and hair damage but also can shorten the time for drying hair.

Hairstyling devices include one or more heat transmissive elements having a coating disposed thereon, the coating having ceramic and lava rock incorporated therein. The use of lava rock-containing coatings as described herein results in hairstyling devices with heat transmissive elements exhibiting enhanced heat retention, faster heat recovery, and increased ion emission. Furthermore, lava rock-containing coatings have been found more durable than equivalent heat transmissive element coatings that do not have lava rock incorporated therein.
