A power tool including a housing, a controller within the housing, and a brushless motor within the housing and controlled by the controller. The brushless motor including a stator assembly including a stator core having stator laminations with an annular portion and inwardly extending stator teeth. The stator assembly defines a stator envelope in an axial direction extending between axial ends of stator end caps of the stator assembly. The brushless motor further includes a rotor assembly including a rotor core having rotor laminations and defining a central aperture that extends in the axial direction and that receives a shaft, and a position sensor board assembly including position sensors and configured to provide position information of the rotor core to the controller. The rotor assembly and the position sensor board assembly are provided at least partially within the stator envelope.

The present disclosure relates to a stator assembly for an electrical machine. The stator assembly comprises a plurality of stator frames (110, 120, 130) forming a stator rim (100). The stator frames (110, 120, 130) defining ring sectors and mounted to each other to form a stator rim (100). Further, the stator frames (110, 120, 130) at least partially form an air distribution channel extending from at least one of the stator frames (110, 120, 130) into another of the stator frames (110, 120, 130). Methods (400) for assembling a stator assembly are also disclosed.

A normal vector to the first contact surface is aligned with a radially inward direction defined for the rotary shaft. A bearing holder (first bearing holder) has a second contact surface in contact with the first contact surface. A normal vector to the second contact surface is aligned with a radially outward direction defined for the rotary shaft. The bearing holder is positioned by bringing the first contact surface into contact with the second contact surface.

A stator of an electric motor comprises a pole chain, which is made of a stack of a plurality of straight transformer sheets and rounded to a circular configuration by bending the stacked transformer sheets, wherein the pole chain has a plurality of pole portions each comprising a pole tooth; a plurality of winding cores attached to the respective pole teeth for accommodating coils of a three-phase winding comprising wires; wherein the wires of respective phases of the three-phase winding are routed spatially separated from each other and without mutual contact at an axial end surface of the pole chain between and along adjacent winding cores around the pole chain; and wherein the wires are supported and guided such that their positions relative to the pole chain are substantially maintained when the pole chain is rounded from its straight configuration to its circular configuration.

Accordingly, initial alignment of the stator and the rotor may be securely maintained.
