The sensing portion changes a relationship between a displacement amount of the head portion when a load is applied to the head portion and a repulsive force generated according to the displacement amount from an increase to a decrease in the repulsive force at a first threshold value. The first threshold value relates to an increase in the displacement amount, and stops the decrease in the repulsive force at a second threshold value. The second threshold value relates to when the displacement amount is larger than the first threshold value.

A toothbrush includes a head portion (10) having a bristle tufting surface; a grip portion (30) disposed on a rear end side from the head portion; a neck portion (20) disposed between the bristle tufting surface (11) and the grip portion; and a sensing portion (70) for sensing that an external force in a first direction orthogonal to the bristle tufting surface exceeds a threshold value. A reversal portion (80) connects a first region and a second region, and snaps, buckles, and reverses as the head portion is displaced on a rear surface side due to the external force exceeding the threshold value. An elastic deformation portion (90) connects the first region and the second region, and elastically deforms at least up to the external force at which the reversal portion snaps, buckles, and reverses.

A method for cleaning a surface that is selected from at least one of a medical device surface and a soft tissue surface includes the steps of: contacting the surface with bristles of a moving brush head that is part of a powered hand-held device; and dispensing onto the surface an irrigation fluid through the brush head and a dispensing opening formed along the brush head.

A cosmetic package for applying a product including a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical product onto the keratinous substrate comprises a receptacle and a cosmetic applicator. The cosmetic applicator comprises an applicator head, a stem and a closure. The applicator head further comprises a connecting member, an applying member and a rivet member. The connecting member further comprises a shank portion at a proximal portion thereof, a locking portion at a distal portion thereof, and a flexing portion which extends between the shank portion and the locking portion. The applying member rotates with respect to the stem and the flexible portion of the applicator head flexes during application of the cosmetic product onto the keratinous substrate.

An apparatus for collecting hair and other bodily particles using static electricity. Preferably the apparatus comprises a base, a cylinder disposed on the base capable of holding a static electrical charge, a brush disposed on the base such that its bristles are in electrostatic contact with the cylinder, and a cylinder rotation device capable of rotating the cylinder against the brush. A cleaning device is provided that includes a handle, a cleaning implement, a flexible neck, and a collar. The cleaning implement depends from one end the handle. The flexible neck is positioned to allow flexion of the handle. The collar moves with respect to the flexible neck between a first position where movement of the flexible neck is unrestricted by the collar and a second position where movement of the flexible neck is restricted by the collar.

This application discloses a side brush and a smart cleaning device. The side brush includes a side brush base for mounting to a smart cleaning device and a scraper connected to a peripheral side of the side brush base. The scraper is configured to be in contact with the floor, so as to scrape sundries. A structure of the side brush can effectively prevent the side brush from being entangled with sundries during cleaning.
