Tunable power amplifier with wide frequency range
A circuit includes an amplifier to amplify an input signal and generate an output signal. The circuit also includes a tuning network to tune frequency response of the amplifier. The tuning network includes at least one tunable capacitor, which includes at least one micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) capacitor. The amplifier could include a first die, the at least one MEMS capacitor could include a second die, and the first die and the second die could be integrated in a single package. The at least one MEMS capacitor could include a MEMS superstructure over a control structure, which is to control the MEMS superstructure and tune the capacitance of the at least one MEMS capacitor.

An inverter for inductive power transfer is disclosed. The inverter comprises a first inductor and a switching element in series between power supply terminals, the switching element being operable to be switched at a first frequency; a first capacitance in parallel with the switching element between the first inductor and a power supply terminal; a first tank circuit in parallel with the first capacitance, the first tank circuit comprising a second inductor and a second capacitance, wherein the second capacitance is arranged in series with the second inductor; a second tank circuit in parallel with the first capacitance; and a third capacitance in series with the first inductor between the first tank circuit and the second tank circuit, wherein the second tank circuit comprises a transmitter coil and a fourth capacitance, the fourth capacitance being arranged in parallel or series with the transmitter coil; wherein the fourth capacitance is selected such that the resonant frequency of the second tank circuit is not equal to the first frequency, and wherein the second inductor and the second capacitance are selected such that the resonant frequency of the first tank circuit is an integer multiple, greater than one, of the first frequency.

RF amplifier with conductor-less region underlying filter circuit inductor, and methods of manufacture thereof
An amplifier includes a semiconductor substrate. A first conductive feature partially covers the bottom substrate surface to define a conductor-less region of the bottom substrate surface. A first current conducting terminal of a transistor is electrically coupled to the first conductive feature. Second and third conductive features may be coupled to other regions of the bottom substrate surface. A first filter circuit includes an inductor formed over a portion of the top substrate surface that is directly opposite the conductor-less region. The first filter circuit may be electrically coupled between a second current conducting terminal of the transistor and the second conductive feature. A second filter circuit may be electrically coupled between a control terminal of the transistor and the third conductive feature. Conductive leads may be coupled to the second and third conductive features, or the second and third conductive features may be coupled to a printed circuit board.
METHODS OF PLASMA DICING BULK ACOUSTIC WAVE COMPONENTS
Aspects of this disclosure relate to methods of manufacturing bulk acoustic wave components. Such methods include plasma dicing to singulate individual bulk acoustic wave components. A buffer layer can be formed over a substrate of bulk acoustic wave components such that streets are exposed. The bulk acoustic wave components can be plasma diced along the exposed streets to thereby singulate the bulk acoustic wave components
BULK ACOUSTIC WAVE COMPONENTS
Aspects of this disclosure relate to bulk acoustic wave components. A bulk acoustic wave component can include a substrate, at least one bulk acoustic wave resonator on the substrate, and a cap enclosing the at least one bulk acoustic wave resonator. The cap can include a sidewall spaced apart from an edge of the substrate. The sidewall can be 5 microns or less from the edge of the substrate.
Multi-band power amplifier module
A multi-band power amplifier module includes at least one transmission input terminal, at least one power amplifier circuit that receives a first transmission signal and a second transmission signal through the at least one transmission input terminal, a first filter circuit that allows the first transmission signal to pass therethrough, a second filter circuit that allows the second transmission signal to pass therethrough, at least one transmission output terminal through which the first and second transmission signals output from the first and second filter circuits are output, a transmission output switch that outputs each of the first and second transmission signals output from the at least one power amplifier circuit to the first filter circuit or the second filter circuit, and a first tuning circuit that adjusts impedance matching between the at least one power amplifier circuit and the at least one transmission output terminal.

A power amplifying device includes a first amplification circuit amplifying a first signal having a first frequency component and a second frequency component; a second amplification circuit amplifying a second signal received through an output node of the first amplification circuit; a filter circuit connected between a ground node of the first amplification circuit and a common ground to pass the first and second frequency components to the common ground through the ground node; and an inverting circuit that phase-inverts a signal including second harmonic components of the first and second frequency components that are received through the ground node of the first amplification circuit and provide the phase inverted signal to the output node of the first amplification circuit.

The first feedback path can provide a feedback path from a positive output of the first amplifier to a negative input of the first amplifier. The second feedback path can provide a feedback path from a negative output of the first amplifier to a positive input of the first amplifier, The circuit can also include a loop circuit including a second amplifier, The loop circuit can be configured to provide a local feedback loop for the first amplifier and configured to control current flow into the positive input of the first amplifier and into the negative input of the first amplifier.
