CIRCUIT MODULE HAVING DUAL-MODE WIDEBAND POWER AMPLIFIER ARCHITECTURE

A circuit module includes a power amplifier, a switch, and a bypass capacitor. The power amplifier has a signal input node coupled to an input signal, a signal output node to generate an output signal, and a power input node coupled to a supply output signal of a supply modulator. The switch is coupled between the power input node of the power amplifier and the bypass capacitor. The bypass capacitor is an equivalently removable bypass capacitor coupled between the switch and a ground level.

Power amplifier circuit and semiconductor integrated circuit

A power amplifier circuit includes unit amplifiers (unit PAs) whose output terminals are connected to one another, among which a number of unit PAs to be operated is controlled by an amplitude signal indicative of an amplitude of an input signal, and which output output signals based on a phase signal indicative of a phase of the input signal and an output current controller which controls an output current of each of the unit PAs. Each unit PA includes a first transistor and a second transistor connected in series between the output terminal and a ground. The first transistor receives the phase signal at a gate. The second transistor receives at a gate a control signal generated by the output current controller and determines the output current flowing to the output terminal on the basis of the control signal.

The present invention discloses an audio processing circuit, wherein when the audio processing circuit determines that a signal being processed is a small signal, an output stage uses a regulated supply voltage provided by a voltage regulator, and the output stage uses an open-loop structure to reduce noise of an output audio signal; and when the audio processing circuit determines that the signal being processed is a large signal, the output stage directly uses the supply voltage without using the regulated supply voltage, and the output stage uses a closed-loop structure to reduce the total harmonic distortion of the output audio signal. By using the present invention, the audio processing circuit can have a good performance indicator with a small chip area design.
