Short-term noise suppression
A processing system is configured to drive a transmitter electrode with a repetitive multi-burst pattern. The repetitive multi-burst pattern includes a first multitude of bursts of a sensing waveform and a second multitude of bursts of the sensing waveform. The second multitude of bursts is a repetition of the first multitude of bursts. The processing system is further configured to receive, from a receiver electrode, a resulting signal in response to the repetitive multi-burst pattern, and identify, in the resulting signal, a segment least affected by a noise, and that temporally coincides with a burst in the first multitude of bursts or a burst in the second multitude of bursts matching the burst in the first plurality of bursts. The processing system is also configured to decode the resulting signal using the segment.
Adaptive howling suppressor
A system configured to perform adaptive feedback reduction, such as howling suppression, to prevent feedback from occurring when two devices are acoustically coupled during a communication session. To reduce feedback between the acoustically coupled devices, a device monitors input audio data from a microphone and determines whether feedback is present in individual frequency subbands. For example, the device determines an expected value for a first subband using neighboring subbands (e.g., averaging subbands surrounding the first subband) and compares the expected value to an actual value for the first subband. If the actual value is noticeably higher than the expected value, the device determines that feedback is present in the first subband and attenuates the first subband. If the feedback is not present, the device passes the first subband without attenuation.
SOUND COLLECTION LOUDSPEAKER APPARATUS, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR THE SAME
Provided is a sound pickup loudspeaker apparatus that has a mechanism for detecting situations in which sound amplification should not be performed and stopping sound amplification from a speaker. The sound pickup loudspeaker apparatus is installed in a vehicle. At least a sound pickup position and a sound amplification position are assumed to be present in the vehicle. The sound pickup loudspeaker apparatus includes a noise level estimation unit that determines a noise level that is an estimated value of the magnitude of a noise component included in a sound pickup signal obtained from a microphone that collects sound emitted from the sound pickup position, and a control unit that performs control such that (i) when the noise level is not greater than a predetermined threshold value or is less than the threshold value, an acoustic signal based on the sound pickup signal is played back from a speaker at the sound amplification position, and (ii) when the noise level is greater than the threshold value or is at least the threshold value, the acoustic signal is not played back from the speaker.
Diffusivity based sound processing method and apparatus
A sound processing system operative to measure the level of diffusivity of the sounds present in the input sound signal. The system includes a plurality of input channels for receiving audio signals from an audio scene, the audio scene comprising at least one target sound in the presence of background noise. A diffusivity measurement unit is included so as to be operably coupled to the plurality of input channels to receive the audio signals therefrom and measure a level of diffusivity of the sounds present therein. A leveler unit is operably coupled to the plurality of input channels for receiving the audio signals therefrom and for applying a gain to the audio signals to minimize variations in the audio signal levels. A controller is operably coupled to the diffusivity measurement unit and the leveler unit to control the gain applied to the audio signals by the leveler unit based on the level of diffusivity of the sounds present therein.

Various embodiments relate to a method for calibration of a center frequency of a BPF in an FSK transceiver, the method including the steps of filtering a carrier frequency signal by the BPF to produce a filtered signal, detecting, by a phase-frequency detector (PFD), a difference in phase between the carrier frequency signal and the filtered signal from the BPF, sweeping a calibration code of the BPF, detecting a transition in the sign of the phase difference and capturing a calibration code associated with the transition in the sign of the phase difference for calibration of the BPF.
