SMART SPEAKER POWER MANAGEMENT
A smart speaker power controller may be configured to receive power conforming to one of a plurality of power modes from an input power source. The power controller may be further configured to communicate the power mode to at least one component of a processing system or at least one component of an audio system for operating the smart speaker according to the received power mode, including determining a current limit of a power converter; determining a shutdown voltage threshold and safely shutting down the smart speaker if the input voltage falls below the threshold, and/or modifying audio operation of the smart speaker in response to the power mode. The smart speaker can further include an audio power supply controller configured to monitor energy required to reproduce an audio signal and to servo a power supply voltage provided to an audio amplifier in response to this energy level.
Audio control circuit and associated control method
The present invention provides an audio control circuit comprising an USB interface and a processing circuit is disclosed. The USB interface is used to connect to a host device, and the processing circuit is configured to perform enumeration with the host device via the USB interface, and the processing circuit is further configured to determine if the host device operates in a BIOS stage or an operating system stage to generate a control signal according to packets of the enumeration. When the processing circuit determines that the host device operates in the BIOS stage, the processing circuit generates the control signal to enable a de-pop circuit; and when the processing circuit determines that the host device operates in the operating system stage, the processing circuit generates the control signal to disable the de-pop circuit.

HEADPHONE OPERATION DURING HEADPHONE INSERTION DETECTION
A method of operating a headphone configured to be removed from and placed in close proximity to a user's ear can include generating an input signal by an input signal generating device. The method can also include determining whether an insertion event has occurred based on the generated input signal and causing the headphone to operate in a low power mode responsive to an absence of an insertion event determination after a first period of time. The method can also include causing the headphone to operate in an ultra-low power mode responsive to the absence of an insertion event determination after a second period of time that occurs after the first period of time, the ultra-low power mode having a lower power consumption than the low power mode.
OPERATION OF A PERSONAL AUDIO DEVICE DURING INSERTION DETECTION
A method of operating a personal audio device configured to be removed from and inserted into a user's ear can include generating an input signal by an input signal generating device. The method can also include determining whether an insertion event has occurred based on the generated input signal and causing the personal audio device to operate in a low power mode responsive to an absence of an insertion event determination after a first period of time. EARBUD OPERATION DURING EARBUD INSERTION DETECTION
A method of operating an earbud configured to be removed from and inserted into a user's ear canal can include generating an input signal by an input signal generating device. The method can also include determining whether an insertion event has occurred based on the generated input signal and causing the earbud to operate in a low power mode responsive to an absence of an insertion event determination after a first period of time. The method can also include causing the earbud to operate in an ultra-low power mode responsive to the absence of an insertion event determination after a second period of time that occurs after the first period of time, the ultra-low power mode having a lower power consumption than the low power mode.
Systems and methods for handling silence in audio streams
Systems and methods for handling silence in audio streams are disclosed. In one aspect, a transmitter detects a halt in an audio stream. After detection of the halt in the audio stream, the transmitter embeds a silence signal into the audio stream and transmits the silence signal to associated receivers. The associated receivers may respond to the embedded silence signal by playing silence or by using the silence signal to activate a silence protocol. In either event, the associated receivers do not receive the original audio halt and do not produce an unwanted audio artifact.
Auto-mute audio processing
An audio processing circuit may have a first path for processing multi-bit audio signals in parallel with a second path for processing single-bit audio signals. The parallel paths may share a common input node for receiving audio data and a common output node for reproducing audio at a transducer. Each path may have a volume control for adjusting an output of the path. The audio processing circuit may determine a type of an audio signal received at the input. The path not corresponding to the detected type of the audio signal is muted, and the path corresponding to the detected type of audio signal is unmuted.

REDUCING IMPEDANCE DISCONTINUITIES ON A SHARED MEDIUM
Systems and methods are provided for reducing the effects of an impedance mismatch between a communications system and a shared communications medium. A communication system, such as a transceiver within a cable modem, switches between various operating modes including a transmit mode, a receive mode, and a standby mode. The standby mode may be used while the transceiver is in an idle state between modes, such as while changing an amplifier gain states in between transmissions. While transitioning between modes, the impedance presented by the communications system can temporarily fluctuate causing unwanted signal reflections to propagate out of the communications system and on to the shared medium. Circuitry within the communications system, such as transmission circuitry including an adjustable attenuator, may be placed into a hybrid attenuation-isolation mode during the transition causing the magnitude of any unwanted signal reflections to be attenuated and reducing the impact on the shared medium.
