Convertible sit and stand workstation
A workstation for alternatively configuring a conventional desk for use while sitting and use while standing. The workstation includes an extendable column formed of multiple nested sections. The nested sections are configured to telescope such that the column can be extended. The workstation is configured to support a monitor and a tray. The extendable column contains a counter balance mechanism that is configured to resist collapsing of the column. A movement coupling mechanism is provided that it is such that motion of the first section relative to the second section is transmitted to the third section such that the third section moves a corresponding amount relative to the second section.
Length-adjustable foot support for a table and support base
A length-adjustable foot support for a table and table support base having a housing with a longitudinal axis and an extension member that is movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing from a first position defining a first, shortest length of the length-adjustable foot support, to a second position defining a second length of the length-adjustable foot support that is longer than the first, shortest length.
ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT STRUCTURE
An adjustable support structure having a telescoping assembly that is movable by a drive mechanism between a collapsed position and an extended position. The telescoping assembly may include a latching mechanism that cooperates with one or more telescopic support members to permit or restrict movement of one or more support members relative to each other, which may depend on the position of the support members as the telescoping assembly is collapsed or extended. The drive mechanism may include linkages and a catch mechanism configured to cooperate with the latching mechanism for permitting or restricting relative movement between support members, and which may enable sequential telescopic extension or retraction of the support members. The linkages may be adapted to fit within one or more of the telescopic support members, such that the linkages may support a portion of the load, and may enhance stability by restricting lateral movement within the support members.
Self-Driving Telescopic Post
A self-driving telescopic post includes a cap, a brake, a directional bearing and an axle. The cap includes comprising a central aperture in communication with a chamber. The brake is inserted in the chamber. The directional bearing is inserted in the cap and engaged with the brake. The axle is inserted in the central aperture and supported by the directional bearing. The axle is allowed to rotate in a first sense of direction relative to the directional bearing so that the brake does not interfere with the rotation of the axle in the first sense of direction via the directional bearing. The axle is prevented from rotation in a second sense of direction relative to the directional bearing so that the brake interferes with the rotation of the axle in the second sense of direction via the directional bearing.
Height adjustable support surface and system for encouraging human movement and promoting wellness
A system for adjusting the height of a workstation for use by a user, the system comprising a frame, a worktop vertically slidably attached to said frame and selectably adjustable in elevation to different positions, at least one drive mechanism mechanically connected between said frame and said worktop and arranged to selectively vertically displace the worktop with respect to said frame when activated, a processor controlling the drive mechanism to move the worktop to different positions, the processor monitoring at least one condition with respect to the worktop and, when the at least one condition is met, generating at least one reminder for a workstation user, the processor providing the reminder to a workstation user by driving the worktop through at least one small vertical displacement.
Height adjustable support surface and system for encouraging human movement and promoting wellness
A system for adjusting the height of a workstation for use by a user, the system comprising a frame, a worktop having an upper work surface, the worktop being vertically slidably attached to said frame and selectably adjustable in elevation to different positions including at least a first standing position and at least a first sitting position, at least one variable speed electrically-powered vertical-displacement drive mechanism connected between said frame and said worktop, said drive mechanism being arranged to selectively vertically displace the worktop with respect to said frame when said drive mechanism is activated and a processor controlling the drive mechanism to move the worktop to different positions, the processor controlling the drive mechanism to control the rate of worktop height displacement at various speeds including at least a first speed and a second speed that is different than the first speed, the processor controlling the rate of worktop height displacement at the first speed sometimes and at the second speed at other times.
LENGTH-ADJUSTABLE FOOT SUPPORT FOR A TABLE AND SUPPORT BASE
A length-adjustable foot support for a table and table support base comprises a housing having a longitudinal axis and an extension member that is movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing from a first position defining a first, shortest length of the length-adjustable foot support, to a second position defining a second length of the length-adjustable foot support that is longer than the first, shortest length. There is also provided a table and a table support base incorporating the length-adjustable foot support.
SUPPORTING FRAME FOR A PIECE OF FURNITURE
The invention relates to a supporting frame with a lifting column (59) comprising telescopically arranged profiles with an upper and lower end, said upper end having a housing (60) secured thereto, and a base unit (61,62,63) with a compartment at least for partial reception of the lifting column housing (60) and a locking element (75), which when placed in a locked position exerts a squeezing force between the base unit (61,62) and the housing (60) of the lifting column (59). Thus, the housing (60) of the lifting column (59) is positioned and fixed in the base unit (61,62,63). The supporting frame further comprises means for retaining the locking element (78) in the locked position.
Height-Adjustable Support Surface and System for Encouraging Human Movement and Promoting Wellness
A sit-stand desk includes a frame located on a floor surface; a panel having an upper work surface and being selectively vertically displaceable in respect to the frame; and a vertical-displacement drive mechanism mechanically connected between the frame and the panel. Activation of the drive mechanism vertically displaces the panel with respect to the frame. The sit-stand desk also includes a control circuit selectively activating the drive mechanism to vertically displace the panel according to prescribed displacement instructions in response to receipt of a trigger signal and a pressure mat located on the floor surface adjacent to the frame on which a user stands. The pressure mat includes a pressure sensor in communication with the control circuit and configured to measure a presence of the user adjacent to the desk.
