CHAIR ASSEMBLY WITH UPHOLSTERY COVERING

A seating arrangement includes a base, a seat assembly operably coupled to the base, and a back assembly that includes a substantially rigid back frame including a pair of side portions spaced from one another and extending upward from the base, and a substantially flexible back shell including a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface, a plurality of laterally-extending slots that extend between the front surface and the rear surface and that cooperate to define a plurality of laterally-extending ribs therebetween, where a pair of laterally-extending ribs of the plurality of laterally-extending ribs are connected to one another via a vertically-extending rib located at a substantial midpoint across a width of the back shell, and wherein the back shell is coupled to each of the side portions of the back frame at locations above the plurality of laterally-extending slots.

Control assembly for chair

A chair back assembly includes a back frame having a front surface and a rear surface and including a laterally extending cross member having opposite end portions, a back shell including a front surface, a rear surface positioned in front of the front surface of the back frame, a pair of laterally spaced side portions defining an opening therebetween, and a top portion extending laterally between and connected to the side portions, wherein the side portions are exclusively connected to the cross member at opposite ends of the cross member, wherein the connection between the side portions of the back shell and the end portions of the cross member are the only connections between the side portions of the back shell and the back frame, and a cover extending across the opening and connected to the side portions and the top portion of the back shell.

Office chair with synchronously movable backrest and seat

A chair in which a synchronized mechanism, fixed on a telescopic post of a base, supports and renders interdependent rigid elements and which, define respectively the backrest and the seat of the chair and are mutually hinged at a first point, i.e. along a horizontal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline plane of the seating space, which is entirely defined by a single curved line obtained by joining the rigid elements and which are adapted for this purpose.

Chair arm assembly

A chair assembly includes a four-bar arrangement that includes a lower end and an upper end where the upper end is adjustable between a raised position and a lowered position, and an arm rest assembly adapted to support the arm of a seated user thereon and supported on an upper end of the four-bar arrangement, wherein the lower end of the four-bar arrangement is pivotably supported from an arm support structure for pivotable movement about an arm pivot axis, such that the upper end of the four-bar arrangement is movable between a first position and second position located laterally outward from the first position, and wherein the arm pivot axis is angularly offset from a vertical axis.

CHAIR ASSEMBLY WITH UPHOLSTERY COVERING

A chair assembly includes an arm assembly that includes an armrest supported by a vertically adjustable support assembly and an arm base, where the arm base extends at an acute angle with respect to a longitudinal centerline of the chair assembly, an upholstery arrangement including a ring member attached to a cover, where the ring member includes a plurality of reliefs having a width that reduces as the ring member is wrapped about a shell member of the chair assembly, and a control arrangement having a biasing member that moves through an arcuate path as the biasing member is adjusted between varying bias settings.

Load support structure

A body support structure includes a frame and a membrane attached to the frame. The membrane includes elastomeric filaments. The membrane includes different regions with different stiffness. The membrane may form a part of a seat or a backrest.

Chair and seat support mechanism

To provide a chair in which the seated person can perceive a comfortable sitting feeling even if sitting for a long time, and furthermore, a high work efficiency can stably be maintained, a chair according to the present invention includes a leg 1 erected on a floor surface, a seat 3 supported above the leg 1 and a suspension support mechanism 5 configured to operatively support the seat 3, in a front-rear direction and in a right-left direction, along a predetermined trajectory by suspending the part of the seat 3 from a part of the leg 1, the suspension support mechanism 5 comprises a inclining function Q configured to downwardly incline the seat 3 so that a tip side in a movement direction of the seat 3 is positioned below a base end side when the seat 3 operates from a reference position_(S) at which the seat 3 can rest by its own weight.

Seating arrangement

A seating arrangement includes a seat assembly, a control assembly, a back assembly, and a quick-connection arrangement to connect the back assembly to the control assembly, where the back assembly includes first and second reliefs and the control assembly includes first and second shafts received within the first and second reliefs respectively, and a locking arrangement that includes a primary locking member pivotable between a locked position, where the primary locking member abuts the second shaft arrangement, thereby preventing the second shaft arrangement from being removed from within the second relief, and an unlocked position, where the second shaft arrangement may be removed from within the second relief, thereby allowing the back assembly to be uncoupled from the control assembly.

Tilting mechanism for chairs
10813458 · 2020-10-27 · ·

A tilting mechanism (1) for chairs includes a support frame (2), a structure (4) rotationally coupled to the support frame. An elastic system (80) is interposed between the support frame and the structure to counteract a reaction to the tilting of the structure from an at-rest position to a tilted position. An adjustment system (20) is capable of varying the reaction to the tilting. The elastic system (80) includes at least one elastic element (12) and a first and a second stop element (81, 82) fastened at respective longitudinal end portions of the elastic element, respectively. In the at-rest position, the first and second stop elements are in contact with each other, and the elastic element (12) is in a deformed configuration and generates a residual elastic force that is at least partially released on the first and second stop elements.

SEATING FURNITURE

Seating furniture, in particular, a chair having a plane of symmetry, a seat surface, a backrest, a kinematic arranged on a base of the seating furniture, which has a base arm, which is rotatable relative to the base around a base axis (A1), an end arm, which is rotatable around a base arm around an intermediate axis (A2), and a furniture part that is mounted to rotate around the end arm around an end axis (A3), where the three axes (A1, A2 and A3) intersect at a central point (Z, Z1). To achieve versatile mobility, the pivotable furniture part is the backrest, that the seat surface is mounted to rotate relative to the backrest around a connection axis running orthogonally to the plane of symmetry, and that the seat surface is connected to the base via a support kinematic that constrains at least one degree of freedom.
