Chair, particularly conference or office chair, and method for manufacturing a chair

A chair, such as a conference or office chair, includes a seat support; a backrest support; a storage member formed as a force storage element; and a transmission coupling the seat support with the backrest support which allows a pivoting of the backrest support and the seat support between an upright position and a backwardly pivoted position according to a predetermined sequence of movements. The force storage element is coupled with the seat support and the backrest support such that the predetermined sequence of movements is facilitated and the storage member provides a force restoring in the upright position and wherein the flexibly elastic storage member forms in conjunction at least with a first articulated rotation point of the transmission a kinematic chain.

A flexible furniture back with “U” clamp is a steel sofa or chair back having a U-shaped clamp secured to a sofa or chair base providing a back capable of horizontal movement. The furniture back has a plurality of steel cross-member supports. Additionally, the furniture back has padding about the front face and rear face of the back thereby providing cushioning.

RECLINING CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A CHAIR

A reclining control system for a chair having a back and a seat including a rigid seat member having a bottom surface and a first rigid link having a first end and second end. The first end of the first rigid link may be adapted to engage the back and the second end of the first rigid link may be positioned proximally adjacent to the bottom surface of the rigid seat member. A rigid link may have a first end and a second end, where the first end of the rigid link may engage the bottom surface of the rigid seat member at an engagement point. The second end of rigid link may engage the second end of the first rigid link in an aft position. The reclining control system for a chair may further include a pivoting link having a first end and a second end. The first end of the pivoting link may engage the bottom surface of the rigid seat member at the engagement point and the second end of the pivoting link may engage the second end of the first rigid link in a fore position. The rigid link moves the rigid seat member from a non-reclining position in a downward and backward direction and the pivoting rigid link moves the back to a reclining position.

Reclining chair

Furniture is described having an extendable footrest. The footrest has a main panel and a flipper panel. In an extended position of the footrest, the top surfaces of the panels are approximately horizontal and co-planar, the main panel being proximate to a seat portion of the furniture. In a retracted position of the footrest, the top surface of the main panel is approximately vertical and the top surface of the flipper panel is approximately horizontal and facing in a downward direction. The footrest projects substantially 20″ or more from the front of the seat portion in the extended position, and substantially 7″ or less is provided between the floor and the apparent bottom edge of the footrest when retracted.

Chair Assembly

Stackable or nestable single person seating assemblies that include a leg support defined by a plurality of legs and a crossbar that extends between the plurality of legs. The seat assembly includes a back that is rotatably coupled to the plurality of legs and a seat that is rotatably coupled to the back. A biasing element extends from the leg support to the seat and is coupled to a respective leg. Respective portions of the biasing element provide a third pivot axis and a fourth pivot axis that are activated when the back is reclined relative to the seat.

BODY SUPPORT ASSEMBLY AND METHODS FOR THE USE AND ASSEMBLY THEREOF

A body support assembly includes a seat assembly and backrest assembly supported by a tilt control assembly. Methods of using and assembling the body support assembly are provided.

Chair arm assembly

A chair assembly includes a four-bar arrangement that includes a lower end and an upper end where the upper end is adjustable between a raised position and a lowered position, and an arm rest assembly adapted to support the arm of a seated user thereon and supported on an upper end of the four-bar arrangement, wherein the lower end of the four-bar arrangement is pivotably supported from an arm support structure for pivotable movement about an arm pivot axis, such that the upper end of the four-bar arrangement is movable between a first position and second position located laterally outward from the first position, and wherein the arm pivot axis is angularly offset from a vertical axis.
