Digital broadcasting system and method of processing data in digital broadcasting system
A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. A receiving system of the digital broadcasting system includes a receiving unit, an SI handler, and a decoding unit. The receiving unit receives broadcast signals including mobile service data and main service data. The mobile service data configure a data group, and the data group includes a signaling information region in some of a plurality of data regions. The signaling information region may include TPC signaling data and FIC signaling data. The SI handler acquires channel configuration information of the mobile service data from the broadcast signal using pre-decided IP access information, and extracts encoding format information for each IP stream component within a corresponding virtual channel service RTP-packetized and received from the acquired channel configuration information. The decoding unit decodes the mobile service data of the corresponding IP stream component based upon the extracted encoding format information.
DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM AND DATA PROCESSING METHOD IN DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM
A method of receiving a broadcast signal in a receiver. The received broadcast signal is demodulated. The demodulated broadcast signal is parsed to output at least one signal frame. The at least one signal frame includes first data, second data, and signaling data. The signaling data is decoded. The first data and the second data are decoded with different code rates, respectively. The at least one signal frame includes known data for channel estimation. The at least one signal frame includes a plurality of subframes, and the subframes include a plurality of data units. A first data unit in the data units includes the first data, and a second data unit in the data units includes the second data. The signaling data includes information for fast service acquisition which allows the receiver to locate upper layer signaling information. The signaling data further includes information on encoding type of data.
DIGITAL TELEVISION TRANSMITTING SYSTEM AND RECEIVING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROCESSING BROADCAST DATA
A method of processing broadcast data in a broadcast transmitting system, the method includes randomizing, by a hardware processor, the broadcast data; first encoding, by the hardware processor, the randomized broadcast data to add first parity data for first forward error correction; second encoding, by the hardware processor, the first-encoded broadcast data to add second parity data for second forward error correction; permuting the second-encoded broadcast data; block interleaving, by the hardware processor, the permuted broadcast data; third encoding signaling information for signaling the broadcast data to add parity data; fourth encoding the third-encoded signaling information at a code rate; block interleaving the fourth-encoded signaling information; modulating the block-interleaved broadcast data and the block-interleaved signaling information; and transmitting a broadcast signal including the modulated broadcast data and the modulated signaling information.
ENCODING METHOD AND APPARATUS USING CRC CODE AND POLAR CODE
An encoding method for encoding input information bits using an encoder implemented with concatenation of a CRC- coder and a polar coder is provided. The method includes performing Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) coding on as many information bits as a determined number of CRC coding bits among input information bits and performing polar coding on the CRC-coded information bits and other information bits than the CRC-coded information bits.

First data is encoded by adding parity data, and second data is encoded by adding parity data with different code rates, respectively. Signaling data is encoded. The encoded first data, the encoded second data, and the encoded signaling data are arranged in a frame among frames. The frames are modulated and transmitted. The frame among frames includes known data for channel estimation. The frames include a plurality of subframes that include a plurality of data units. The frame among frames includes the encoded first data unit and the encoded second data unit. The signaling data includes information for fast service acquisition which allows a receiver to locate upper layer signaling information. The signaling data further includes information on encoding type of data in a data unit, and information on a number of data units carried within a subframe.
Transmitting system and method of transmitting digital broadcast signal in transmitting system
A transmitting system and a method of transmitting digital broadcast signal are disclosed. The method of transmitting digital broadcasting signal in a transmitter includes multiplexing a specified number of mobile data packets, a first scalable number of mobile data packets, and a second scalable number of main data packets, interleaving mobile data in the mobile data packets and main data in the main data packets, transmitting the interleaved mobile and main data during a slot, wherein the data group includes a plurality of first blocks, each first block including a plurality of data segments, specified block of the plurality of first blocks including the mobile data, known data sequence, trellis initialization data and RS parity bytes inserted in pre-determined position of the data group, wherein the data group includes a plurality of regions, wherein the last region includes the first scalable number of mobile data packets.
Encoding method and apparatus using CRC code and polar code

Forward Error Correction technique: parity vectors are computed such that each parity vector spans multiple FEC frames; in a given FEC frame, a first set of syndrome bits are due to the parity vectors, and a second set of syndrome bits satisfy FEC equations that involve bits of the given FEC frame including the first set of syndrome bits; and the parity vectors are staggered with respect to any sequence in which the FEC frames are processed. Values of decoded bits of a first frame are deduced from known bits of a first parity vector having an effective length of one frame. For parity vectors having an effective length greater than one frame, a Log Likelihood Ratio of each unknown bit associated with the first frame is updated based on known and unknown bits of each parity vector. First frame is decoded using deduced bit values and updated LLR values.
Digital television transmitting system and receiving system and method of processing broadcast data
A DTV transmitting system includes a frame encoder, a randomizer, a block processor, a group formatter, a deinterleaver, and a packet formatter. The frame encoder builds an enhanced data frame and adds parity data into the data frame. The frame encoder further divides the data frame into first and second sub-frames including first and second portions of the parity data, respectively, and permutes a plurality of the first sub-frames and a plurality of the second sub-frames, respectively. The randomizer randomizes enhanced data in the permuted sub-frames, and the block processor codes the randomized data at a rate of 1/N1. The group formatter forms a group of enhanced data having one or more data regions and inserts the 1/N1 coded data into at least one of the data regions. The deinterleaver deinterleaves the group of enhanced data, and the packet formatter formats the deinterleaved data into enhanced data packets.
Method and device for processing received data
A method and device for decoding a plurality of packets of same data. Each packet is encoded using a product code. An encoded packet comprises data blocks is organized into rows and columns. Each of the rows and columns has a respective error detecting code. For a data packet, Erroneous row and column data are detected by their associated error detecting code. In the data packet, a potentially erroneous data block belonging to a row and a column of data blocks both having been detected as erroneous is detected. In another data packet of the same data, a non-erroneous data block corresponding to the identified potentially erroneous data block is determined. The data block is determined as non-erroneous if it belongs to at least one row or column of data having been detected as non-erroneous. The identified potentially erroneous block is replaced with the determined non-erroneous block.
