A recliner chair, love seat, or sofa comprises a backrest, a seat, a footrest, and pairs of symmetrical, oppositely disposed linkage members for moving the backrest between upright and reclined positions, and for moving the footrest between retracted and extended positions. A protective cover is fixedly attached to the footrest such that opposite sides of forward portions of the pairs of symmetrical, oppositely disposed linkage members are covered so as to prevent parts of young children or pets from being caught within the forward portions of the pairs of symmetrical, oppositely disposed linkage members as the pairs of symmetrical, oppositely disposed linkage members are moving the footrest between its retracted and extended positions. In addition, a single linear actuator is utilized to move both the backrest between its upright and inclined positions, and to move the footrest between its retracted and extended positions.

A chair includes a seat, a backrest, and a leg rest. A tilt actuator and lift actuator tilt and lift the seat, respectively. A leg rest actuator extends and retracts the leg rest. A backrest actuator pivots the backrest with respect to the seat. A controller simultaneously controls the actuators such that they move sequentially between multiple predefined states. A control panel enables a user to automatically move the chair to any of the predefined states. A controller controls the actuators such that they simultaneously arrive at each state. One or more functions on a control panel may also be automatically disabled and/or automatically enabled as the chair moves into or out of certain ones of the predefined states. When transitioning between some states, all of the actuators are activated, and when transitioning between other states, only a subset of the actuators is activated.

Embodiments relate to apparatus comprising a seat, a base for supporting the seat, and a mounting bracket connecting the seat and the base, wherein the mounting bracket comprises a first portion, a second portion and a flexible joint joining the first portion and second portion; the first portion connected to the base via a first connection member; the second portion is received by a seat comprising a receiving member, wherein the receiving member is connected to the seat using a second connection member; wherein the second portion moves between a foldable position and a release position relative to the first portion; wherein the mounting bracket is configured to be locked in foldable position securing the seat to the base; and wherein the mounting bracket is configured to be in release position for assembly and disassembly of the seat from the base.

CHAIR AND SUPPORTS

A chair has a supporting frame 1, a seat portion 101, a back portion 201 that has an upper end, a lower end, and is pivotally mounted relative to the supporting frame at a position above its lower end, and a recline mechanism 601. The recline mechanism 601 lifts the seat portion 101 upon a reclining action of the back portion 201, and has an operative connection 603, 611 between the seat portion and the supporting frame and a drag link 602 pivotally connected to the seat portion 101 and pivotally connected to the back portion 201 at a position below the pivotal mounting of the back portion relative to the supporting frame. As the back portion 201 of the chair is reclined, the lower end of the back portion 201 moves forward and the drag link 602 pulls the seat portion 101 upward relative to the supporting frame 1.
