Systems and methods for OFDM duobinary transmission
A method of modulating a series of input digital symbols of a first modulation scheme is provided. The method is implemented by a transmitter and includes receiving a sequential series of samples of the digital symbols in a first domain of the first modulation scheme. The first domain is one of the time domain and the frequency domain. The method further includes determining a dual of the first modulation scheme. The dual has a second modulation scheme in a second domain that is different from the first domain the second domain is the other of the time domain and the frequency domain. The method further includes applying a 90 degree rotational operation to the second modulation scheme to generate a rotational modulation format, modulating the series of digital symbols with the generated rotational modulation format, and outputting the modulated series of digital symbols to a receiver.

SPREADING A RESPONSE SIGNAL USING A FIRST SET OF ORTHOGONAL SEQUENCES AND A REFERENCE SIGNAL USING A SECOND SET OF SHORTER ORTHOGONAL SEQUENCES
A radio communication apparatus includes spreading circuitry that spreads a response signal using a first set of orthogonal sequences to produce a spread response signal. Each orthogonal sequence in the first set has a first length. The spreading circuitry also spreads a reference signal using a second set of orthogonal sequences to produce a spread reference signal. Each orthogonal sequence in the second set has a second length that is shorter than the first length. A radio transmitter transmits the spread response signal and the spread reference signal.

RECEPTION OF SIGNALS WITH UNPREDICTABLE TRANSMISSION PROPERTIES IN WIRELESS M2M NETWORKS
A method and apparatus for reception of signals with unpredictable transmission properties enabling physically secure, unscheduled and interference-resistant communication over machine-to-machine (M2M) networks is claimed. A physical structure comprising combinations of unpredictable physical dwells, spreading vectors, and selection of intended receivers is described. Reception methods employing blind detection and signal separation techniques are then described, which can detect and extract transmissions intended for a receiver, and excise transmissions not intended for that receiver, as part of the despreading procedure, even if received at much higher power levels than the intended transmissions. The resultant receiver eliminates the ability for an adversary to predict and override M2M transmissions; allows reception of ad-hoc transmissions in dense environments without scheduling, CSMA/CA protocols, or feedback paths enabling scheduling, and allows macrodiverse reception of transmissions at networks of connected receivers, thereby providing additional efficiency and security improvements by exploiting the route diversity of the network.

Creating Library of Interferers
A system includes a method for detecting a signal interference in a communication signal of a wireless communication system. An identified source of the signal interference is determined according to an interference profile of a plurality of interference profiles associated with an interference profile library having information that approximates characteristics of the signal interference. The signal interference of the communication signal is mitigated according to an interference parameter associated with the identified source by filtering the communication signal according to the interference parameter.
