20220376555 · 2022-11-24 ·

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for implementing a power harvesting protocol at a network entity and a channel engineering device (CED) of a wireless communication network. In some aspects, the network entity and the CED may implement a power harvesting protocol that includes power harvesting capabilities and configuration signaling to support power harvesting at the CED. The CED may provide a power harvesting capabilities message to the network entity that includes a parameter that indicates capabilities for power harvesting at the CED. The network entity may respond with a power harvesting configuration message to configure the CED for power harvesting. After configuration of the CED, the network entity may transmit dedicated and non-dedicated (or opportunistic) power harvesting signals to the CED for use by the CED for power harvesting. The dedicated and non-dedicated power harvesting signals may be periodic or aperiodic.

The ultrawideband radio transceiver/repeater can be implemented in discrete, integrated, distributed or embedded forms.

Relay apparatus and relay method

A relay device for relaying communications between a plurality of radio devices that perform radio communications with a terminal and a radio control apparatus that controls the plurality of radio devices, the relay device including a plurality of signal combiners that are each provided for one of functional splitting points between the plurality of radio devices and the radio control apparatus, and are each configured to convert signal data transmitted from one of the plurality of radio devices based on a signal format in accordance with the one of the functional splitting points, and transmit the converted signal data to the radio control apparatus, and a signal switcher configured to output the signal data transmitted from the one of the plurality of radio devices, to one of the plurality of signal combiners supporting one of the functional splitting points that corresponds to the one of the plurality of radio devices.

Broadcast and multicast in a wireless communication system in a wireless communication network

The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to broadcast and multicast in a wireless communication system. In some implementations, an announcement frame indicating a broadcast or multicast service period to multiple second wireless devices is transmitted by a first wireless device. The announcement frame indicates (i) an end time of the broadcast or multicast service period and (ii) an order of a sequence of frames to be directed to the multiple second wireless devices. Each of the sequence of frames is transmitted at the first wireless device using a directional antenna pattern to a respective one of the multiple second wireless devices, according to the order of the sequence of frames indicated in the announcement frame. An acknowledgement frame in response to the each of the sequence of frames is received at the first wireless device from the respective one of the multiple second wireless devices.

Optimizing Use of Existing Telecommunication Infrastructure for Wireless Connectivity

ROBUST RELAYING INFORMATION TRANSMITTED TO ORIGINATION DEVICE
20230094238 · 2023-03-30 ·

An origination device (e.g., a base station) receives relaying information from a signal forwarding device in a grant or a broadcast message. The relaying information can be information pertaining to channel conditions and/or quality (e.g., a Channel Quality Indicator) of a first communication link between the signal forwarding device and a destination device, and/or an encoding rate based on channel conditions associated with the first communication link. The origination device utilizes the relaying information to determine a first set of encoding parameters that correspond to channel conditions associated with the first communication link between the signal forwarding device and a destination device. The origination device encodes a first set of data according to the first set of encoding parameters and transmits the encoded first set of data to the signal forwarding device. The signal forwarding device transmits the encoded first set of data to the destination device.
