Organization of inter-relay discovery reference signals
10979132 · 2021-04-13 · ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may implement an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network architecture where relay nodes connect with other IAB nodes via wireless backhaul links. For improved node discovery, during or after an initial relay integration procedure with a parent node, a relay node may transmit a capability report to the parent node indicating a duplexing capability of the relay node (e.g., whether the relay node is half-duplex or full-duplex capable). Based on the duplexing capability, the parent node may determine discovery reference signal (DRS) transmission and measurement resources for the relay node and configure the relay node with these resources. The relay node may use these resources for transmitting DRSs and monitoring for DRSs from other IAB nodes. If the relay node discovers another IAB node in the network, the nodes may form a wireless backhaul link.

Embedded control signaling for self-organizing wireless backhaul radio and systems

Enhancement of wireless Channel Order and rank (ECHO) systems and ECHO repeater devices for enhancement of a wireless propagation channel for point to point or point to multipoint radio configurations are disclosed. The enhancement may be used for MIMO communications channels. Aspects support a richer multipath environment to increase the rank of the channel propagation matrix and/or to increase the magnitude of the coefficients of the propagation matrix between two or more radios. Such enhancement is applicable to backhaul radios in terms of increased range or in the number of supportable information streams. The installation, provisioning, optimization, control, monitoring, and adaptation of such devices within a network of backhaul radios is also disclosed. Wireless links and control between IBR and ECHO devices, and between ECHO devices and other ECHO devices, are also disclosed.

Uninterrupted transmission of internet protocol transmissions during endpoint changes

Facilitating uninterrupted transmission of internet protocol (IP) transmissions during endpoint changes is disclosed. When an IP transmission is received at a first relay port or a second relay port, a call record having the first relay port identifier or the second relay port identifier matching a destination port identifier in the IP transmission is located. When the destination port identifier matches the first relay port identifier of the record, a source IP address identifier and a source port identifier from the IP transmission are set as a first entity IP address identifier and first entity port identifier, respectively, of the record when the first entity IP address identifier and first entity port identifier do not match the source IP address identifier and source port identifier respectively and a received IP session identifier in the IP transmission matches the first entity session identifier. A similar procedure is followed to set a second entity IP address identifier and port identifier.

ADAPTIVE RELAYING IN A NON-ORTHOGONAL MULTIPLE ACCESS (NOMA) COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A relay-based data transmission approach to improve the reliability and/or the energy efficiency of uplink NOMA. A relay node (RN) is employed to improve the performance of both weak and strong UEs. In some embodiments, superposition coding and NOMA-based transmission are applied at the RN and the UEs, respectively, to improve the achievable rates of the UEs.

Distributed antenna system and methods for use therewith

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, includes coordinating relay transmission of a modulated signal via relay links of a distributed antenna system to reduce an accumulated forwarding delay in forwarding the modulated signal through the relay links. One of the relay links of the distributed antenna system reconverts the spectral segment of the modulated signal for transmission to a communication device to which the modulated signal is directed.

Apparatus and method for performing relay communication in wireless communication system

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as a long term evolution (LTE). A method and apparatus for performing a relay communication are provided. A remote user equipment (UE) according to the present disclosure is configured to acquire a first parameter related to relay load from each of a plurality of relay candidate UEs, to select a relay UE which will perform a relay communication with the remote UE from among the plurality of relay candidate UEs based on the first parameter acquired from each of the plurality of relay candidate UEs, and to perform the relay communication with the selected relay UE. The first parameter is generated based on cellular communication load between a base station (BS) connected to a corresponding relay candidate UE and the corresponding relay candidate UE.

Broadcast relaying via cooperative multi-channel transmission

Systems and methods for relaying in broadcast single-frequency networks are disclosed herein. A single-frequency network can be formed in part using transmitters that receive data via a cooperative relay channel instead of a station-to-transmitter link. In some embodiments, a second channel may use a portion of its transmission time to relay the information to the single-frequency network transmitter using time-division multiplexing. In other embodiments, a second channel may encode the relayed information on a second layer using layer-division multiplexing.
