Chair
10321763 · 2019-06-18 · ·

A chair comprises a backrest, a seat, a supporting structure for supporting the backrest and the seat, and a base support. The supporting structure, the seat and the backrest are each pivotably mounted to permit the supporting structure, the seat and the backrest to each tilt over a predetermined range. This allows the chair to move into and out of a reclined position. The seat is free to pivot over its predetermined range relative to the supporting structure independently of a tilt of the supporting structure. The pivoting backrest and the pivoting seat are intended to encourage dynamic sitting.

Chair having a leaf spring in contact with a linkage to provide a resistance to tilting of a backrest of the chair relative to a column of the chair
11998118 · 2024-06-04 · ·

A chair, comprising, a backrest, a seat coupled with the backrest, a column coupled with the seat, a linkage statically attached to the backrest and rotatably attached below the seat, a leaf spring statically attached at one end and in contact with the linkage to provide a resistance to tilting of the backrest relative to the column, a first structure. A portion of the first structure has an arc shape that includes one or more teeth, and a second structure in contact with the first structure. The chair is configured such that, when a weight is applied to the seat, one or more teeth of the second structure move along the one or more teeth of the first structure to provide an increased resistance to tilting of the backrest relative to the column.

Apparatus with weight responsive changeable adjusting characteristics

A reconfigurable apparatus having: a frame; at least a first component on the frame upon which a force is applied in a first manner in using the apparatus for its intended purpose; and at least a second component on the frame that is movable relative to the at least first component and/or the frame and upon which a force can be applied in a second manner to reconfigure the apparatus by moving the at least second component relative to the at least first component and/or the frame. An adjusting assembly cooperates between the at least first component and the at least second component and is configured so that as an incident of the force being applied in the first manner changing, the force being applied in the second manner required to reconfigure the apparatus changes.

CHAIR ASSEMBLY WITH UPHOLSTERY COVERING
20190133322 · 2019-05-09 ·

A chair component assembly includes a support component adapted to support a portion of a seated user, and a cover including a plurality of sides that cooperate to form an interior space that receives the support component therein, the cover further including a support component receiving aperture and a flap movable between an open position where the support component may be moved from an exterior of the cover to the interior space of the cover, and a closed position where the flap covers the support component receiving aperture, and wherein the flap is secured to the support component by a quick-connect fastener.

CHAIR ARM ASSEMBLY

A chair assembly includes a four-bar arrangement that includes a lower end and an upper end where the upper end is adjustable between a raised position and a lowered position, and an arm rest assembly adapted to support the arm of a seated user thereon and supported on an upper end of the four-bar arrangement, wherein the lower end of the four-bar arrangement is pivotably supported from an arm support structure for pivotable movement about an arm pivot axis, such that the upper end of the four-bar arrangement is movable between a first position and second position located laterally outward from the first position, and wherein the arm pivot axis is angularly offset from a vertical axis.

Systems and methods for providing ergonomic chairs

A chair for providing support to a user's spine to improve posture and for providing ways for the user to perform exercises. The chair may include a flexible connection that enables a back support to move side to side through a sidebending range of motion of the user. The back support, which may include a flexible chair spine, may be configured to adapt to the curvature of the user's spine when the user is seated in the chair. A seat of the chair may include channels and vents to improve air circulation within the seat.

COLLAPSIBLE AND PORTABLE ROCKING CHAIR
20190110599 · 2019-04-18 · ·

A collapsible and portable rocking chair includes left and right frame side assemblies collectively defining forward and rear leg members, armrests, seat support members and back support members. The chair also includes transverse connectors connecting the left and right frame said assemblies and supporting the chair in its set-up condition. The connectors are pivotally connected to one another as well as to the left and right frame side assemblies to facilitate folding of the chair frame to a collapsed and bundled condition where all the frame members are pivoted and/or slid relative to one another to a generally parallel condition. Each frame side assembly is supported on a fulcrum point for rocking movement of the chair frame. A rocker mechanism is attached to the chair frame to support the chair during rocking movement and to facilitate rocking of the chair in connection with the user's shifting weight.

FLEXIBLE SUPPORT DEVICE FOR CHAIR BACK TILTING
20190090647 · 2019-03-28 ·

The flexible support device is used for chair back tilting, which is installed under a cushion. The device includes a base, two driving members connected to the chair back, a pulling rod crossing the base and a spring disposed in the base. The base is connected to ends of the driving members. Two ends of the pulling rod are separately connected to two free ends of the two driving members. The pulling rod has a frame encompassing the spring. The frame has an action end blocking the spring. When the chair back is pressed to tilt rearward, the driving members are rotated to draw the pulling rod to move toward the chair back, and the action end of the frame is driven to compress the spring so as to make the chair back flexibly supported.

Oscillation mechanism for chairs
10231545 · 2019-03-19 · ·

An oscillation mechanism for chairs includes a support frame, a structure coupled to the support frame to rotate about a first axis, an elastic element interposed between the support frame and the structure and configured to oppose a reaction force to an oscillation of the structure. The reaction force generates a reaction moment acting on the structure with respect to the first axis. An oscillation adjustment system is able to vary the reaction moment with the oscillation being unchanged. The adjustment system includes a pin movably coupled to the structure and a movement system of the pin for varying the distance between the pin and the first axis. The elastic element is directly fastened to the pin so that the reaction force is transmitted to the structure with the application point corresponding to the pin and with direction and orientation unchanged.

Resistive support mechanism for a chair including user feedback

A resistive motion support mechanism joined to a mounting surface and to a base for providing resistive support to the mounting surface as the mounting surface undergoes one or both of rotational and tilt movement relative to the base, the motion support mechanism comprising: a support bearing connected to the mounting surface and to the base which permits one or both of tilting and rotational motion of the mounting surface relative to the base; a resistance cartridge fixedly connected to the mounting surface such that the resistance cartridge undergoes movement relative to the base and applies a resistive force on the base as the mounting surface undergoes the one or both of rotational and tilt movement. The mounting surface and the resistance cartridge are connected by at least one sensor for measuring one of forces applied by the mounting surface on the resistance cartridge, movement of the mounting surface with respect to the cartridge and/or acceleration of the mounting surface with respect to the cartridge.
